Scammer Claiming to be Jerome Bettis

I have been on the job hunt for a few months now. About a week ago, I sent out an application through LinkedIn to Bettis Brothers Sand & Gravel for a marketing assistant position. I didn’t think much of the application until I received an email back. I was astounded to see that the email came from THE legendary pro football player Jerome Bettis, and he was actually the CEO of said gravel company in Pittsburgh. I have been through things like this previously, so I decided to start cross checking. The LinkedIn account was seemingly legitimate, as it had listed Lester Jones as the job poster (he is the real Vice President of the company). The phone number was the only thing that was sticking out to me. Out of curiosity and suspicion, I called the number just to be greeted by a google assistant. I searched and found another scam report regarding this specific phone number. It’s awful that people are so willing to take advantage of others in this way. I’m hoping my report can steer others away from this scammer.
