Debt Reduction Dept Reports & Reviews (4)

I received a document in the mail making it look like a collection agency was after me for something I owed although I do not have any outstanding debt that I don't pay for on a monthly basis. The wording starts with "IMPORTANT SECOND NOTICE" although I never received a first notice and then the paragraph says:

"Our previous attempts to contact you have been unsuccessful. This letter is being sent to you one last time before you are not longer deemed eligible for help by this office. Once we have been contacted, we will have authorization to restructure your open balance of $5,500 on your behalf directly with your creditors. Once all funds clear and the program proceeds have been applied to your creditor accounts, your account will be considered satisfied. We can offer a monthly set aside plan to make monthly payments more affordable. According to our records, we are able to offer you a monthly set aside of 36 month program $165."

It made me feel like I had forgot something and that I was in trouble. I looked it up online and found a blog that mentioned this very letter and how it is not legit but a scam to get people to call their phone number. It makes me so angry the way in which it tries to deceive you so that you will call their number.

Received "Important Second Notice" requesting immediate contact with the " Client Negotiations Department". They claim that I have an estimated $16,000 in credit card debt. I am to call them, ready to verify account balances. They will restructure the debt with a proposed term of 36 months with payment of $240.

I am unable to scan the document, but if you would like, I could mail it to you.
