In May/June of 2023, I started researching and speaking with ghostwriting companies to help with a book I wanted to write. After a couple of weeks of discussions, I landed on Ghostwriter Proficiency. I signed a contract for a book and an accompanying workbook. The contract was signed in June 2023 and provided a money-back guarantee if the customer was dissatisfied. Due to the money-back guarantee, I was comfortable with their request for full payment upfront. (In the future, I will definitely require a milestone payment structure for anyone I work with.) My project manager told me his name was Jeffrey Carter. Amidst a variety of issues, I had only 3 of 15 chapters completed by October and no workbook at all. After long consideration, I decided that I was not happy with a number of things and decided to discontinue my work with Ghostwriting Proficiency. Even though Ghostwriter Proficiency provided a money-back guarantee, I said I thought it was fair to pay them for the work that had completed and they could refund me the rest. On October 24, 2023, I officially ended the contract with Ghostwriter Proficiency and I was told by both my project manager (Jeffrey Carter) and the financial person that I would receive my refund the next week. At first, the financial person tried to tell me there were management fees or something that meant I would only get back a portion of what I paid. I clarified that was NOT what the contract says. It explicitly states, without caveat, clause, or amendment, that there was a 100% money-back guarantee. I said that I would pay them for the work performed, and I wanted the rest of my payment rest back. After paying them for their work, I was owed $770.00. It is now November 16, 2023. I have NOT received my refund. Moreover, despite multiple emails and texts about the situation, it appears that I am being ghosted by the company. Please beware of this company. It looks legit from the website. I did my research and there were no red flags in comparison to the other ghostwriting companies that I was also researching. It wasn't until I started working with them that issues started cropping up. I was unhappy with their service and their product. I can not get my money back and they are now not returning my emails or texts. They have 3 offices: Sugar Land (1601 Industrial Blvd Suite, No. 3025, Sugar Land, TX 77478, USA), Beverly Hills (8383 Wilshire Boulevard Beverly Grove, #800, Beverly Hills, CA 90211), and Portland (555 Southeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Suite 105, Portland, OR 97214). They look legit, please just save your money and go somewhere else.

The firm offered to help me write & publish a book titled "The Texas Torture Case" at a reduced fee of $650 for online publishing and a paperback. I paid $400 down with a credit card. The story is a true story about me being lured to Texas where I was kidnapped, beaten and tortured by psychiatrists & other drs in retaliation for my whistleblowing about corruption & abuses inherent in psychiatry and the mainstream medical profession. The outline of their version of this true story was of unsually poor quality and painted the exact opposite picture of what my blog dealing with this story reports on. Their version was written at a grade school level of quality and made it sound as if I was mentally ill and incompetent. Yet the primary theme of the story is this was all done to a perfectly sane and competent legally licensed NY State physician and is a horrible covered up abuse case. The government and responsible parties don't want to admit this kind of thing happenened in the USA. I figured I would just rewrite the entire book anyway and work with the firm to publish it. Than they asked me for $7500 to market their poorly written version and $16 a copy to have the paperback published. Than when they stopped working closely with me on my editing I became completely disgusted and asked for a refund, which their agreement says you can receive if you're not satisfied with their work. After a week or two they sent me an e-mail with a receipt saying $200 was being refunded and several weeks later I have never received the $200.. *******************
