Threatened legal action numerous times via text messages for an outstanding medical bill from lower key medical center from 2012. The amount was something like $1500. I explained that I’ve lived in CT since 2013 and have never received any correspondence from Lower Keys, a debt collection agency or their firm. The woman cut me off saying “well you can go to court then”. She then offered me a settlement for $500. It scared me as I’ve worked extremely hard to rebuild my credit so I gave them my credit information. She had last 4 digits of my SS number as well. I called CITIBANK and reported fraud immediately and card is canceled. Once fraud investigation is complete would like to pursue legal action.
