Keurig Dr. Pepper Reports & Reviews (1)

- Pearl City, HI, USA

I signed up for a campaign to wrap my car for Dr. Pepper. It seemed like a fast way to make some quick cash, which I needed. I received a cashier's check in the mail for $2,755.00. The return address on the envelope was from a car shop so it seemed like it was legitimately connected. I sent an email to the address listed on the instructions that were in the envelope. I asked all the questions I had and received no response. Per the instructions attached to the check, I deposited the money and sent a copy of my deposit receipt (without my bank information exposed) to the number that was listed (304) 250-9639. Immediately, they asked me to send the money via PayPal to the installer. I asked a lot of questions about why I wasn't going in to a shop for installation. The male on the other end responded with talk about using a private installer that comes to me. When the initial PayPal payment didn't go through immediately, they refunded it and gave me another account to try. This automatically seemed sketchy to me. I kept receiving text messages harassing me into making the funds available immediately so we could move onto the next steps. I made it very clear that there was nothing I could do and the funds were gone. They refunded the money in PayPal and continued to harass me to send it again and make sure it was available for immediate use. I was receiving calls & texts at all hours of the morning & night, from 5:22am - 9pm. I finally blocked the phone number. That's when I received an email from the address I had initially reached out to. It wasn't in response to my initial email though, it was more harassment to answer my phone. I didn't respond. They started using other phone numbers. I blocked them as well. After 3 days of ignoring & blocking all phone numbers that I didn't recognize, I received a text at 7:30am on a Sunday morning threatening that I better not be trying to steal company funds and company authorities would handle it next so I should never think I'm safe.

I responded to the email I had received. I stated that I would return the original money during regular business hours, I've looked up all of their phone numbers and found them on scams with the bureau and I've contacted the proper authorities to report misconduct and harassment. They responded immediately with an apology for behaviors so far and stating they don't want to get in trouble. This was followed by 2 more emails stating that I need to make the funds available immediately and I need to split the payments so it works.

This is ridiculous & makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I'm changing all of my information and closing my accounts. I can't believe there are people that do this.
