QuantM COTEQ Reports & Reviews (3)

My wife used this company for tech support in the past and was generally happy with the service. Just recently, she received a call from someone saying they were from COTEQ and that they were going out of business. He told her that the ScamPulse.com required them to reimburse her and that in order to get her money back ($300) he needed access to her computer. He claimed that she would need to fill out a form over the computer as part of the reimbursement process. This person was quite pushy and said this was the only way for her to get her money back. Thankfully she was not at her computer at the time and asked the person to call back at a later time. Since then, this person has been calling her incessantly (10x) on a daily basis. They number he calls from is 844-631-2192.

I carried calling the geek squad and must have selected this number instead. I allowed remote access to my computer and was told I needed browser protection costing $200 when I became hesitant they became very pushy I am so glad I didn’t give them my credit card information but I did give them access to my computer and now I am on my way to a local repair shop to have my computer fixed. Ironically costing me $200.00 but glad I am going through some place reputable. I was almost fooled as they pointed out very heavily that they were a ScamPulse.com accredited company.

I was having trouble getting my cousin's Hewlett-Packard scanner online, so I searched Google for "Hewlett-Packard scanner phone support", and foolishly clicked the top phone number on the return list.

"Chetan" permitted me to believe he was a Hewlett-Packard tech. He said that in order to help me with the issue I was calling about, he wanted to check my system. I admitted into the system remotely and he ran a scan which returned 1250 "threats" for which he wanted me to spend $200 to remove.

I took a screenshot of the list of "threats" and later a tech from the company to which my cousins pays $144 a year for virus protection confirmed that they were no threats at all.

We were not damaged financially, and as far as I know, my cousin's computer system was not damaged. However, less savvy people could easily be ripped off by this hustle.

I think this is outrageous, and I do not believe this organization deserves the BBB raring "Chetan" pointed to in an attempt to get me to fork over $200.
