Mail letter claiming fictitious relative is deceased leaving behind 11 million dollars, and wanting 10 percent of it in order to send it.

A family member in PA received a letter from this "partner" at "Richard & Mark Asscociates LLP." The letter stated that someone with the same last name died from COVID-19 and there was an unclaimed life insurance policy in the sum of $11,550,300.00 that could be claimed by my family member. "Richard Beck" proposed that 10% go to charity and the remaining 90% be split between the two of them. He wrote, "For more details, please contact me via: [email protected].

Dixon County Sheriff's Office (Nebraska) posted on their Facebook page a strikingly similar letter, but with a different last name for the decedent (everything else was identical). This is a snail-mail phishing scam!

Claimed there was an "unclaimed Life Insurance Policy of $11,550,300.00 in the name of an Anthony (same last name as mine). Wanted me to share in the payout. Claimed he was a lawyer. I searched the phone number given, and concluded it was a scam.

I am POA for an older lady in the Wellington Care Center. I receive her mail, and this seemed to scream major scam. Please let me know if I need to do anything else to report this situatio, so no one else gets these letters. Thank you
