I was just called by a person calling himself Eddy (he had an accent) My caller ID showed 865-793-7160. I told him I'd have to call him back and he gave me this number 1-415-280-4280. Anyway he said do you remember paying us $249.00 in 2015 for computer services and I said no. He said you don't?? Anyway he said they want to refund the $249.00 for the BBB. He said I need to get on my computer and he'd walk me thru the process and it would take about 20 minutes. I said what info do they need and he said name, address, and how I want it refunded and I said what are the options and he said there are about 15 options and he can't read them all to me but some by mail, into my bank account, etc. At that time I told him I'd call him back and he reluctantly gave me a number. I just feel like this is a scam as I have not paid anybody $249 for any computer service.

In September,2015, I was contacted by Software Solutions and a man called William indicating I was having trouble with my computer and needed protection. It was to bhe a five year program for $419.99. I know now I should have just said no, but I didn't. In September, 2016, I received an e-mail from Angelina Scott (who I think is William himself ) that I owed a second year payment of $419.99 and upon checking found out that the program could only be cancelled by William. I contacted William at 1-905-5560382 and was told there would be a $419.99 cancellation fee. After questioning him, he said he would reduce the fee to $300. I sent the $300 by Western Union on October 7, 2016 and receipt was confirmed on 10/8/16 at 10:21 in Ontario. Prior to that William demanded the payment of $420.00 to be sent by moneygram purchased at the Post office. I received an e-mail from [email protected] case was closed and my account cancelled. I promptly called William and informed him that I sent the money by Western Union because he guaranteed me, with a witness on the phone, that the MoneyGram was not good in Canada and would never be cashed and if it were he would assure me that the $420 would be repaid to me.I sent him (William Burg) a letter of confirmation at the address he gave me--655 Roy Street in Carrville, Texas. I received the letter back marked Return to sender -Not deliverable as Addressed and Unable to forward. On 10/25, I received another e-mail from William to the effect that my e-mail was received, it would take one month to process my refund as he had to contact Canada, and an assurance that I would get my $420 back - do not worry. I did some further checking on the phone number he gage me (9055560382) and found the prefix was not in Texas but Ontario. I now know that I have been scammed by William Brownlee and Software Solutions. I have filed a claim form with MoneyGram and have all my paperwork on file. What I am asking of William is to get my payment of $420 back since it was guaranteed by him that a MoneyGram would not be accepted in Canada. It cleared on 10-14-16 at 20:16:10 in Toronto, Ontario.. I have reported this to the ScamPulse.com of Ontario, your office, The Dubuque Police Department, MoneyGram, and the Iowa Attorney general's Office. I am in hopes that someone can get my $420 returned to me. I was told by the Dubuque Police Detective that I have probably lost the $300 and have learned never to respond to a phone call about my computer. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you.
