This company presented itself as an affiliate of Navient. It also uses scare tactics about Trumps presidency and states he would be getting rid of student loan forgiveness programs and I would have to consolidate now. I informed th

I could fill out the required paperwork myself at the US department of education but they insisted they could do it also and qualify me for 10 years a zero payment and then total loan forgiveness. The next thing they did is make it sound like that the required fee was actually was going to back payment of my student loans. It wasn't until I called their payment processor Tina that I was told no those payments are a fee for service not back payment towards my student loans. Mind you this was November 2016 and I was awaiting the winter holidays and as a single mom with no support every dime counts. I thought I was helping to rebuild my credit but I was wrong. The sales rep not loan counselor Don Mathews rushed me through the contract so that I completely missed the part about no refund and not being affiliated with the DOE at all. He sure did make sure I signed all the boxes. After 2 payments of 300$ to this company I realized that I could not afford there service and contacted Tina. This is when I discovered the fee was not a repayment to Navient. I then was told that I could contras the fee with my bank but k would still be help to their crooked contract. I then told Tina that of her company could assist in 1o year repayment that we should continue as I plus not afford to loose 600$ for nothing. She them based on my upset said I only had to make one more reduced payment and that she would continue with my paper work. She however did not issue me a new contract and I foolishly did not ask. Well months pass and I start getting collection calls from Navient. I wonder what has happened Tina said they would start processing my paperwork. Well I called back Tina and no response. I called again a week later, no response. Now I am delinquent in many of my loans and they have refused to return calls. I have completed the paperwork myself just like I originally stated I could. This company does not have the client in mind but only to line their greedy pockets. I struggled all winter to catch up while making 300$ payments to them. I a single mom an elementary school teacher and k did not deserve to be taken advantage of because I wished to fix my debt. I truly hope this company gets shut down.

A company called Project Uplift America called me about my student loan debt and said it could all be forgiven if I pay $500 upfront. I was then emailed an online document created by A1 Doc Prep that was a contract I had to sign. The contract states I must pay $500 for a list of Department of Education options to be sent to me to pick a forgiveness program. I recently found out that all of this can be done for free. This company is asking $500 to do something people can do themselves. When I asked to cancel my services, the woman (J. Adams) was very rude on the phone. When I asked her to provide an email with a written confirmation that I have canceled, she responded with "We don't really allow cancellations, but if you're not a paying client, you're not at my priority. You can send me an email later this week to remind me and maybe I can get around to it." No business conducts itself that way. She is a scammer.
