I was applying for jobs due to being laid off from my company. Day and night I was up applying to everything but also making sure the background of the company and requirements were up to my standards. I came across an email from William Lynch giving me detail for detail on a "Shipping Clerk" position from home. After receiving the email, minutes later he gave me a call wanting to speak to me about the position and the background of their company. As he finished telling me all the details, I went ahead and asked him all the questions necessary pertaining to the position and employer. I asked him about my W2, where is the company located, how would I get my I9 paperwork, if there was any room for growth, how and when will I be getting paid, the type of packages, and how do customers do the process of ordering the item. As any employer who knows all the details of their company they should be able to atleast answer me those simple questions in which he did. After all questions and concerns were addressed, he sent me my contract in which detailed all the training and the probation period I will be put into for my first 30 days of being employed with them. The contract also entitled that I will be on a probation period for 30 days (which was 06/14/19) and I will be getting paid on the 31st day ( which was 06/15/19 and we are now on the 17th). When I first started receiving packages, everything seemed normal and straight to the point, all I had to do was print out the prepaid shipping label given to me, ship it out and upload the receipt showing proof that it has been dropped off either with FedEx, USPS, or UPS. Every package I would drop off I would get a $20.00 bonus added to my check plus an extra $5 for sending it before 24 hours in which I never even received and never added to my bonus total. Some packages that I would get also required signature in which was normal to me but if it wasn't my package, why am I signing for it ? I thought nothing out of the ordinary because the type of packages I would get and the communication I would have with William seemed like any regular job. On 6/13/19, I was speaking with William about my pay just to verify a day before that I would be getting it on the day I was told is de which is 06/14/19 and he said yes I would be getting it by the end of the week and I would also receive the shipping labels for all the packages currently in my possession that customers never verified information for. I made sure I double checked with him before declining the call and I also had him on speaker so the person next to me can also hear it as well that he confirmed my pay will be direct deposited into my account on 06/14/19. When I woke up the next morning at around 6:45AM, I checked my bank account and I didn't see my check has been deposited. I didn't panic just yet since being that it was way too early and they are based off California. I let an hour pass and then I started to freak out alittle. I stated calling William to the number ive always contacted him from and he was giving me no answer. I texted him multiple times and even emailed him and I still didn't receive nothing from him. At that point my anxiety was shooting out the roof because I had court that morning in which I was needing that money for that day. 2 hours pass and I didn't get an answer, text, or email. I started to panic and did all the research I could've possibly done and that's when I saw that someone on Indeed made a review on the company on 06/05/19 stating the same issue I had. The review stated that after the 30 days he never received a pay like he was told and that it was a SCAM and to expect detectives at our door due to the packages being purchased illegally. I was suppose to be receiving an amount of $2.897.00. On weekends he never answered and he never even had a voicemail machine which made it even hard to contact him.
