Spam phone call from Martin, employer ID#86 contacted me and his company was contracted by Apple and had determined that there was malevolent internet activity on my computer (when I was on a computer at the time). Before he said he was from Apple, I thought he said he something about my windows machine, but he changed his tune when I said that I did not have that type of computer. He also asked about my dial-up connection and I should have hung up then but, unfortunately, I gave him info that I do not have dial-up. Anyways total scam and should be investigated by BBB and FCC.

Image shows confirmation from Apple that this was not an authorized call and so Martin was trying to scam me.

Mother in law had pop-up on computer telling her there were issues and to call a number. When she called the number, she was convinced to allow remote access to her machine. She asked if the person she spoke with represented Dell, the manufacturer of her computer, and was told yes. She was made to digitally sign a contract for technical support services, and provide credit card information for payment. The individual on the phone told her they would call back the next day for further service. They did so, but she informed them she wanted to cancel the service (she had been told that this was likely a scam at this point). The person on the other end of the line said "I'll let them know." and abruptly hung up the phone.
