Amazon Imposter Email Reports & Reviews (1)

- Round Rock, TX, USA

I received an email with a $6,000+ charge from "Amazon". They tell you if it's incorrect, call the Fraud Dept. After a lot of questions, etc. they tell you to go to a store and buy two Google Play or Ebay cards to verify you identity and location because the person has copied my credentials. This is supposed to verify that I am the person being frauded. Then like a dumb dumb, I gave them the card information from the Google Play cards (two $200 cards) and they supposedly refund this back. They actually send an email that looks like the logo from Amazon. They claim the refund is on your Amazon card. Once I said, I want my debit card refunded, they then tried to get me to buy more cards. At that point, I knew something was not right. I called them back at that number several times to tell them I was aware that they had burned me and karma would get them back. They hung up. The number is still active right now. 1-866-549-0175.
