AMAZON TEXTED ME BUT IT REALLY WASNT AMAZON. THEY ASKED ME TO TAKE A SHORT SURVEY ABOUT THEIR SERVICE AND RECEIVE FREE GIFT. THEY ASKED FOR EMAIL,PHONE NUMBER,ADDRESS, AND BANK CARD INFO TO PAY $3.00 FOR SHIPPING. I DID IT AND IMMEDIATELY REALIZED I WAS SCAMMED AND CANCELED MY CREDIT CARD AND $3.00 WAS REMOVED FROM MY ACCOUNT BY BANK

I opened an e-mail that looked like it came from amazon. I opened it up and it said "Thank you for your recent amazon purchase." Then it told me to take a survey on my recent amazon purchase and then claim a prize up to an $80 dollar value. So, I took the survey and it told me I had to pay the shipping on the product. I ordered an item called t-volve. They sent me the product then told me that if I didn't mail it back to them after a two week trial that they were going to bill me for the other two weeks worth of the product. They sent me a 30 day supple, told me only two weeks of it was free, and then told me I would be billed 49.95 on my credit card for the rest of the product. They won't pay the shipping for me to return the rest of the product. Why did they send me a 30 day supply when only two weeks of it was free? Why didn't they send me the two weeks that was free and tell me if I liked the product I could continue ordering i?. Amazon won't take any responsibility for this despite the fact that I receive this e-mail every time I make an amazon purchase. They said there is a cookie on my computer that generates that e-mail every time I make an amazon purchase. Well, if amazon already knows about this scam, then why don't they send me a warning message or a warning e-mail telling me this is an unapproved e-mail using the amazon logo? This e-mail knows that I made an amazon purchase, uses the amazon logo and web details and it looks like it came from amazon. If amazon already knows about this scam, why didn't they do a simple thing like send me an e-mail saying not to open any e-mail that offers an amazon survey because it isn't from amazon. It seems like they don't care whether or not their customers get scammed while using their website. The product I ordered did NOT have any terms of condition. It simply had me click to choose what was marketed as a free gift. Not only did I pay the shipping to get the product, now I have to pay the shipping to send it back. I was never told that I would have to make any further product purchase.

I had recently signed up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. I regrettably opened an email that had an Amazon survey offer to receive a free gift. I took the short survey and then was given the option to choose one of 3 to 5 gifts. I picked one (which showed price of $0 and only pay a small shipping fee. Then was offered a second similar product as well for a small shipping fee as well. There were no terms or conditions, noticeable at the time, other than paying the shipping fees for these FREE trial bottles of product. I entered my debit card info and address, then received a confirmation of my order/supposed "gift". Total cost showed and billed my account initially for just the shipping cost as promised. Thinking It was legit, i had no worries. The products arrived about 6 days later, and they were fine. 14 days from the time my order was placed, my bank fraud dpt. called on a Sunday morning and said there were two suspicious charges from two unknown companies to me, on my account for total of $180.00. After a little research into my emails i noticed the strange company names that took my money were the same as the shipping fees charges of the scam survey i took to get the free stuff. Baffled and pissed off, I called one of the many support numbers shown. The guy on the phone said I only had 14 days from time of order to call and say I didn't like the product for a discount or refund. It was about 16 days after that i called, and therefore i was billed 92+ dollars for each of the two. He knew nothing about an Amazon gift. Also, apparently with my info, unknowingly, i was set up on two accounts (for same product company name) that would bill me every month after for the same amount. I never saw any terms or conditions that stated any of these policies he told me of. I would never have paid that much or signed up for any accounts that would charge me every month without knowledge about it. I only clicked on the survey because Amazons logo, etc. looked authentic and legit.

Ugggh, so I'm furious, and hoping my bank can help out in this scam even though it isn't a typical case that they list as fraud. These scammers are good at what they do. They show you legit looking offers from a reputable co. like Amazon, reel you in for a free whatever, take your bank info, and cover their tracks quite well. I clicked on the same email and was taken through the same survey only to show different products that had been shown before. I didn't pick one this time. In suspicious coincidence, shortly after, I get a text on my cell phone saying they had added 3 more products to choose from if I would come back and complete their survey. Hmm, how the hell did they know my phone number if I was using my computer for all this and posing as someone else? Very strange, and sneaky. So obviously my info has been phished. They don't show you what you're in for in any way, but the companies that you may have chosen your free gift from definitely have their policies and recurring charges with created 'Accounts' just for your enjoyment of being robbed.

I feel really dumb, being pretty damn smart about computer and internet related things. I even delved into my windows system with FBI fraud forensic type programs to find history paths of the actual pages my eyes saw, and they seem to have disappeared or masked themselves as something else. Be careful out there, I know I will. My bank card has been changed and the fraudulent emails sent to Amazons spoofing report.
