American express national bank name spoofing Reports & Reviews (1)

Company given as "American Express National Bank", said they'd sent me a letter 30 days ago asking me to complete forms for a "High Yield Savings Account". Asking for SS# or TIN#, name, address, signature. Letter advises that the IRS may assess a $50.00 penalty if I do not provide this information. I never opened such an account, never heard of this bank. Only an 800 phone number or p.o. box address given to contact them -- no website or email address. No person's name, only a reference to "The Personal Savings Team". Paper and printing are low-quality.
