I called American Pool Liners in 2018 to have my liner replaced.Obviously I shopped around but I was sold on their warranty and experience. What a mistake.Since the day it was installed I had problems.Liner came from factory with printing and seam defects.Although I was annoyed I figured as long as the liner did it’s job , no problem.Well,it had wrinkles, seams didn’t line up and many other issues.Did everything I was supposed to do.Let them know immediately , documented and recorded the whole process and they seemed to be willing to help. This season the liner completely failed.Couldn’t patch any more and there was nothing I could do.When I called I was directed to email Kimberly with my situation. Was I shocked when they wouldn’t even look into it.Not even a slight investigation. No matter what I emailed to this woman all I would get is basic responses like “we don’t cover chemical damage.””We don’t cover misuse by customer.” Literally not even the slightest effort to remedy the situation even though I have a life time warranty. No calls, no visits, nothing. And now their answer is to not respond.Beware of this company. They know that regular customers have no recourse and exploit that fact. They also go by the name Five Star Pool liners and who knows what else.Trust me, they will not honer any warranty so don’t go with them for that reason. And as far as experience, it’s a lie because they contract all their work out.Again, beware of American Pool Liners and go with local company.

I have also posted this same post in response to another post.
American Pool Liners out of New Jersey which is their main head quarters. Let start by saying I was a little reluctant to go with them simply because I live in Massachusetts however they are covering basically N. E. and NY and Jersey area. I found them on FB while looking around for pool liner companies (Facebook should kick them off the site - and I tried but could never find a link for me to complain about or post anything about this company to Facebook). The initial sale went great, a gentleman (the salesman in my area) came to my house we talked about the pool liner and the warranty on the liner etc, basically everything that goes with a new pool liner install. It was mid summer when this occurred, 7/25/19 to be exact. After the conversation we agreed the pool would be installed in the spring of 2020, all is well. Fast forward to spring, early March 2020 a gentleman came out to my house to do measurements on my pool for the actual liner, very pleasant man and as we were talking he mentioned how well the pool was maintained and that he would like to be here at my house for the install which I said that would be great. On the 16th of I received a text from a company called Pool Liner Galaxy indicating that my customer ID was #4, and to please call them anytime, as well as mentioned that my pool was measured and is being made. This was the same time Covid was starting to make an appearance and things were starting to effect jobs etc. On April 7th I received a call saying my pool would be installed on May 16th. At the end of May due to effects of Covid and other factors my company was doing lay-offs and they were supposed to happen at the end of May. I could not sensibly or responsibly have a pool liner installed and go into more debt if I was about to loose my job. I had contacted American Pool Liners and left a few messages towards the end of the week of the 22nd, and did not get any response. I had called again starting on the Monday of the following week and did not get a call back, in which case I was trying to give them a little time to get back to me, in which case on Tuesday I did receive a call back from a gentleman named Marty who was V.P. of operations who mentioned to me that he had seen I called a few times and was wondering how he could help me. Once he and I were talking he totally understood my situation and we agreed that my installation would be halted until I knew if I was still going to be unemployed or not in which case I would stay in touch with him one way or another. Very pleasant conversation and some anxiety was greatly relieved. We also agreed because the liner was already manufactured that I would be responsible for the liner and we would work something out if needed. Once again fast forward to June, which was longer then expected but due to my company not following through on their timeline was the best I could do, and at that point found out that I will still be employed. Right away on the 25th I called American Pool Liners and asked to speak with Marty (which he told me to do - and when I called was told to mention my job number which is #4), but was instead an answering service who first did not even recall the company I was calling for, which is not a bid deal at this point. Let the hell begin. I did not get a call back, and on the 26th just thought i would give a reminder call because I am getting a little anxious that I want my pool installed. And we move onto the last week of June, just before the 4th, in which case I was going away on the 2nd. I gave them a few days because I know the pool season must have them really busy. I waited until the 1st of July and called again and once again talked to their service, in which case left a message as to what was going on. On the 2nd, left yet again another call with finally a response from someone which was a call back later in the day, and the person had no clue as to what I was talking about and had no information about Marty, so I had asked that someone call me back that has some knowledge about my situation (and the first thing that was said after explaining things was - what can i help you with - seriously).

I had still not heard anything now on Friday the 3rd, called and left message even though I was now on vacation. I did this everyday till the 7th and still no calls back and called twice on this day, and called again twice on the 8th, not a call back as of yet. In addition I have now texted Marty who gave me his number and asked me to text him on and mention job #4 (which i actually did the first day and asked for him to verify that I had the correct number - with no answer). Now on the 9th I finally get a call back from someone named Michelle, who said she was retuning my call from me. And I called her immediately because I was in my car, and explained my situation which I had done on the previous 10 calls or so and still had no idea as to what was going on. So gave here the benefit of the doubt and after the conversation she mentioned that she would check on everything going on and give me a call back the following day. I once again gave the benefit of the doubt that they are busy. I did not hear anything back from her at all, on the following Monday (approx 4pm) called again to find out what was going on, did not get anyone but the answering service again, a few minutes later Michelle called back asking me what can she help me with. I was a little dumfounded with the response. So again explained what I was calling about and she once again told me she was still checking to see what was going on and would call me the following day. The following day comes and I hear nothing, same with the next, so on till the 16th call once again, and once again talk with Michelle who has the same information as before, which is nothing and still the same questions from her - what is this about and what can I do for you (which now had a total attitude and was very short on the phone and would not let me speak at all - constantly talking over me - and being very rude and short on her answers, at some points in the conversation I had to stop her and ask if I could speak). Right after that conversation I contacted the salesman that came to my house and talked with him. He said he knows Marty but did not know Michelle who was talking with, and was very nice. He said he would make some calls and talk to me the following day, which he did not call at all, in which case I called and got no answer and was not able to leave a message. Finally was able to talk to Michelle again (now my total displeasure) on the 20th — after once again calling everyday almost from the 16th with no call backs. This time on the 20th same questions, - what can I do for you, oh yeah I am checking on that and I will call you back, again not listening to anything being said by me and talking over me, which case again need to stop her just to ask a question which got nowhere and is now getting into a shouting match (and mind you my liner is already produced they just need to install it). I said that we were done talking and I would like to speak with a manager, and naturally no return phone calls. I once again called back on the 21st and left a message that if this was not resolved by the end of the week I was going with another company. Finally after yet again me calling, on now on the 21st I get another call back from someone who says they are a manager. I get on the phone with him and first thing out of his mouth is what can i do for you, so I mention that I am job number 4 and ask him if he has looked at my account, he says he has, and asks me what is the problem. I start to go into explaining the problem and same thing starts as to where he does not even let me finish talking and says so what would you like me to do…… Have to say I have now lost it. I do, to be honest start raising my voice, I have never had this kind of bad experience before and was telling him how shocked I was. His response was, well if you would like I can check on things and call you back…. so naturally I lost it now again and mention to him that no one calls back and that I have been dealing with this for a month now and no one is settling this and I mentioned all of the people I have talked with, and I get the response of well you haven’t talked with me and I’m already tired of dealing with you. From there on it was a shouting match in which case his response at one point was an F-bomb, and I so can’t wait to end this call with you, and I can’t wait to get this liner to you and be done with you and done with your business…. meanwhile I am asking him, is this how you deal with your customers, and I get more responses of yes it is and I can’t wait to end this call etc, etc, etc… he then mentions that I am calling the installers today so we never have to hear from you again, they should install the liner either end of week or beginning of next week. Naturally my expectations are not very high and I am seeking a lawyer to maybe stop the whole thing and hopefully have the conversation before the installers come to do my pool. And with all the horror stories I see from the people that have already had the liners installed and do not get any response or help scares a little bit (and side note - i have all messages and calls timeline and scripted). $4285 not including water for an unground pool is a lot of money to just toss away. BEWARE TO STAY AWAY FROM THESE POEPLE, STAY LOCAL EVEN IF IT COSTS A LITTLE MORE… I will update this as it unfolds from here.

Speaking of Marty as another complaint in here mentions --- read on.

- Manchester Township, NJ, USA

Hired American Pool Liners to replace my pool liner along with pressure testing my pool line system. They sub contracted the work. The sub contractor replaced the liner, along with pressure testing the lines. I filled up the pool at my own cost. Only to find that the water level was not holding and thus the brand new liner provided by the American Pool Liner was leaking. I was not even able to enjoy my pool. I got a hold of Marty. Who promised he would take care of me. I was respectful to his response times and his answers. Fast forward now , May of 2020. He has blocked my number. Refuses to answer my calls and fix the issue. Which I may add, they offer LIFETIME WARRANTY. I’ve had the brand new liner by American Pool Liner installed for less then a year and haven’t even been able to use it. To me, they are a fraud and a scam. You call the 80” number. And the representatives don’t even know the company name along with who they work for. They don’t even have a actual address.

I'm going through the same thing. Two week after the liner was replaced I found a two once rip along a "super seam".
