APEX Publishing Reports & Reviews (9)

I am so hurt for everyone who like myself got SCAMMED by Apex Publishing. I reported this to my credit card company who said that they cannot help since Apex Publishing had a 30 days cancel policy. I explained that I was communicating with Ryan, Craig, Michael and Kyle for well over a couple of month and I did not expect this company to do what they did by scamming each of us. My last communication was when I was expecting my magazines to come in the mail and I did not receive them, I called to find out what was the problem. At this time, the country was shut down due to COVID-19 and I sent/call many time to speak with someone and got no call/answer. That was the moment I realized it was a SCAM. Now, I am going to report this to https://www.usa.gov/stop-scams-frauds
Let me know what you're planning on doing as well. I am hurt just as each of you!

Mine was exactly as others. I spent $500 with a very friendly Ryan McGuire who promised a 2 page article on my business and then a full page ad. He introduced me to the design team and then nothing...all emails came back and the phone was disconnected. I do plan to call the police. Curious if anyone else has.

I have the same story and my scammed amount was $500. I spoke with Nicole initially and received an email from Paul regarding the specific's. I spoke with Nicole couple of times after that which was before the pandemic. I called to check on status of their operation, the number was disconnected and website is unsearchable. Big SCAM!

My experience is virtually identical to others who have posted here. I have little to add except to say that the price of this scam for me was $700.

Ditto, ditto, ditto. This is what happened to me, as well, almost verbatim. Sounds like a well-used script. I paid for the ad via Square and with my business credit card. I've filed a dispute and am hopeful it can be resolved. In addition, I had a family emergency and I received a nice note to tell me that his family was praying for mine. I also noticed the sound of a small child in the background, but I attributed this to the pandemic as many people are working from home with children close by. Unconscionable.

Apex was going to create and publish an ad for me in their publication. We were communicating with each other until March 26, 2020. Until that time, I thought they were legit and were ceasing operations until the Covid-19 crisis passed. Now they are not answering their phones and email messages. Now, I think they took my money and ran with it.

This SCAM also played out with me as well and cost me $400.00 out of pocket. Ryan McGuire called from Apex Publishing with a local number in my area and also stated the same story about The Golfer’s Tour magazine for my business to be published with a reduced rate for the year as well. Yes, he spoke at length and chatty with having my AD be in the magazine that would cover all of the golf communities in my county. Yes, he promised the graphic design at no cost for the ad and emailed me a few examples of the magazine as well. He introduced me via email and telephone to talked with Kyle, Michael and Paul. Everything as you mentioned in your post is exactly what happened to me and I don’t know why these SCAMMER do this to honest hardworking people. Apex Publishing made everything appeared legitimate till I did not hear from Ryan, Kyle, Michael or Paul who is supposed to have been their manager. Since I did not get the magazine copies that they promised they would mail out to me to review, which would allow me to see what the clients would be receiving in the mail as well. I thought due to the COVID-19 that it could have been delayed, so I called a couple of times and got no answer and sent several emails with no replies that prompted me to think they were SCAMMERS. I went online and there it is on Scam Pulse dated on April 19, 2020 who posted their story on this SCAM from APEX PUBLISHING/THE GOLFER’S TOUR magazine.

I could have written this exact same post! UGH!

Male called from a local number in my state stating he was representing "The Golfer's Tour " magazine and asking my business to place a reduced rate ad in the next issue. He spoke at length and was chatty. He made promises of wide coverage at exclusive golf clubs. He promised graphic design at no cost for the ad once I had sent in all my information and company logo. I checked the website and it appeared as described with a few 'example' magazines shown. I paid for the ad. I received an email confirmation letter on what looked like letterhead. I received a one page contract on DocuSign to sign. It all appeared legitimate at first. I received another email saying a graphic designer was assigned and I would get a draft ad by a specific date. All follow-up emails since then have gone unanswered. No ad has appeared as promised. Further searching I have done shows no business located with the company name in the city or in the office building they claimed nor nationally. The phone numbers given do not trace to anyone or to odd initials and names that do not match the sender. There is no record of any publication by the name given for the magazine.
