ARA Inc. Reports & Reviews (6)

I received a letter in the mail from this so called debt collection agency that stated it was collecting on an account from Wells Fargo. I immediately knew something was wrong because I have never banked at Wells Fargo or had any type of account there. I called ARA Inc. and the gentlemen on the phone read me my DOB, entire SSN #. I asked when this was from and he stated it was opened Jan 1st, 1990. I laughed because I was only 6 1/2 years old then. He told me it must have been a family member that opened it and you could tell he was getting agitated because his ruse was falling apart. I asked for a supervisor and he said he was the director of operations. He read me one of my real credit card numbers and said they were going to contact the bank that the card is through and have them cancel my card. He also stated that they were sending paperwork to my job to have them garnish my wages. He ended up hanging up on me. I called Wells Fargo and spoke with a very helpful customer service rep who tried multiple ways to look up the account number that they had on the letter and with my SSN # and she stated that this was a scam. I have reported it to my state's attorney general's office and sent the company a certified debt dispute letter so we will see if they send anything to try to validate the debt. I doubt it.

Company called and stated they had legal papers they wanted to send me. Ask for verification of my social security number. They kept giving me person to person saying I owed money for a car that was financed in 2000. I have not financed a car. They stated that they got all information from DMV. Financing was done through Bank One. They said to get in touch with a Mark Farmer at ext 3402.

I received a letter in the mail stating my Chase Bank account had been turned over to ARA for collections and that I owed $4,034.92, due IMMEDIATELY. I do not have any Chase Back accounts or credit cards with Chase.

When I called the company, I was told that all my other credit cards had been suspended and that I would not be able to use them until this bill was paid in full, and if the bill was not paid, that my other credit card accounts would be closed.

Received a letter dated 10/26/16 from this company stating I owe over $38,000 to a Bonton Department Store. I have never heard of this store, so I contacted them and they never heard of me nor could they find any credit card in my name. They are asking me to call and pay within 30 days or call and make acceptable payment arrangements.

I have received a letter from Ara inc. they informed that I had owned Providian Bank Account $2,191.59 which I never did and never heard of this bank before. They threaten me to make the payment within 30 days otherwise they will bring me to court. They also asked me to contact Mr. Farmer ext 3402 if I wasn't able to pay the entire balance in full.

I knew this a scam, so I google about this company and I see lot of people got scam by this company too.
