I received an email and then a text message asking I've received the check yet and to text them when I did. I was already on high alert for ice been scammed before.
So then about a week later I got this letter with a huge check for $2,990 asking me to purchase at my local walmart/CVS gift visa cards then days later go to the Walmart and purchase 3 American Express gift cards. If you want more info on the purchase amount and what to do look at the photo that I provided to show you all the scam.
Man I tell you the scam is the same everywhere and they don't learn do they, they misspell, they use the same routines or ask of the same things which are gift cards. But they are looking alittle more legit with asking you to do alittle more on evaluating the store itself. But as you can see the letter is typed up in 2 different types of ink and slightly different color ink.
Please do your research if you are unsure on the check, it also looks legit but when I did call the bank itself which was located correct on the check but the bank did say they do not have blue cashiers checks, the account n check number also didn't match up or they couldn't find it. So yes it was a fake check. Thank you Jesus that I called, because if I was in desperate need and didn't take my time to research and call I would have been scammed again.
If you don't remember applying for the survey or its to good to be true it's cuz it is a scam.
Thank you and I hope this will help keep others from getting scammed.

I applied for secret shopper jobs online. I wes sent a letter with a check. I was to deposit the check into my account, go to an apple. Store and purchase two gift cards. One in the amt. Of $1,400…and another for $1,300. The remainder of the check was my pay. I have done none of the above as I am suspicious of fraud..

I received an email on my university email account about becoming a secret shopper and make money that won't interfere with current employment. I was sent an email and text where I had to confirm my mailing address. I received a check in the mail for 2,450.00 with instructions to deposit the check and buy two Apple giftcards for $1000 and $1,150 and I would keep the remaining $250. I thought this was a little strange and tried calling and researching and confirmed it was indeed a scam. I did not deposit the check because I was afraid it would bounce and I would be responsible for that. I thought the whole thing was a little weird with little contact information about the person and the company in general.

Received an email from ask markets llc for mystery shopping to sign up. They sent me a packet with a "check" and instructions for shopping at Walmart. The check was for $2650 for the purchase of money orders and gift cards. Did some research and discovered that this was not a legitimate company.

Responded to email ad for mystery shopper employment, mailed check for $2650.00, check was Wood Forest National Bank PO box 7889 The Woodlands, TX 77367-7889, instructions said to deposit check into personal checking and keep $250, buy $300 iTunes card, buy three $700 money orders and text pictures after purchasing. received texts from david swillow asking if check was deposited yet. return address had name renee amato on envelope

I received a text message from David Swillo telling me I had joined their mystery shopper team (NOT). I was told that I would receive my packet and text as soon as i received it. NOT. Along with the survey for Walmart there was a check drawn on a bank in Woodlands, Texas, for 2,650. The instructions to purchase iTunes for 300, and 3 money orders in the amount of 2,100. My cut was $250.

I was sent a link to a secret shopper opportunity by a trusted co-worker whose account was hacked. I signed up on the website, and within days, I was sent a check for $2650 and I was told to text David Swillo when the check was deposited. My assignment was to go to my local Apple Store to purchase two gift cards, one for $1000 and the other for $1400. I had a survey page to fill out and I was supposed to send a picture of my receipt along with the gift cards with the PIN scratched off to this contact person above. I thought that was very strange. This is the message with the link:

Hi,

There's an ongoing recruitment exercise for retail survey shoppers. You get paid to shop locally, I have been on the program a little over 6 months. You'll evaluate and comment on customer service rendered, product and services delivered.

Pay is on average $500-$700 weekly for PT/FT surveys. Follow the link below to apply. https://hdlmarketsforce.formstack.com/forms/apply
