Wanting to know, is aspire threatening anyone else with charge for $6k+ for 3 year contract

In late 2020, I got the Microsoft look alike warning and called what I thought was Microsoft. I had recently upgraded to Windows 10 and couldn't get my laptop to recognize my Brother printer. They charged my credit card $249.95 to get the printer working and everything cleaned up. It wasn't easy and they worked about 3 days trying everything they could think of. Finally, as a last resort they updated Windows 10 which fixed the issue. Now the sales job started by trying sell me $3,000 of protection or the problem would come back. Really? I was born at night but it wasn't last night. I realized that there were scanners and told them I would buy nothing else from them. And then in March, the phone calls started averaging about 120 per month from all different numbers. I recently purchased Hiya cellular software which is blocking many of their calls, but when they switch numbers, it won;t block the call until I block the new number. Some the unknown calls show up as a person I do not know, but some of the numbers are close relatives. To me, that indicates that they they captured my address book while working several days to fix my printer. I immediately purchased both PC Matic AND Kaspersky Internet Suite so hopefully their repeated scans cleaned up the mess they left behind. I have now grown tired of being ticked off about the repeated calls. Instead, I know the Hiya software is frustrating to them requiring many additional numbers. And In a perverted sort of way, I actually get a kick out of blocking their calls that waste their time and keeping them from calling more unsuspecting folks. Bottom line, I gave enough information that they will recognize me. In fact, I hope they are reading this and realize that I will continue to screw with them as long as they continue to screw with me!. 8^)

Same experience as many of the above. Plus, they continue to call at least 12 times a day and on Saturday and Sunday. I have informed them I am not interested in their service but they keep on calling and hang up on me when I ask them to stop.
Scam boys to beat the band. Can't anyone stop them?

Back in Jan 2021 my computer locked up saying I had to call Microsoft because there was suspicious activity. I called the # and talked with someone who had a foreign accent. They "hijacked" my computer and proceeded to fix it. They charged me $249.99 and tried to sell me firewall protection for several thousands of dollars. I said I wasn't interested in the firewall protection and they kept pushing and still declined. They had me sign agreement which I didn't get a chance to read til after the fact and it said to not dispute the charge the credit card company. They have left me alone up until April 2021 and have been receiving calls 2-4 times a day saying there's suspicious activity on my account. I have told them to leave me alone and quit calling. They have used at least 25 different cell numbers. I'm very frustrated that they won't stop calling. I'm ready to get law enforcement involved. I read the reviews of this company after the fact and other people have gone through the same thing.

Both Aspire Marketing and Global Technologies were involved with my situation. Aspire sent me several "documents" to sign and Global Technicians, reviewed my files and "cleaned" my computer. It cost me $199.99 for the cleaning software and I was told that I could call anytime in the next 6 months if I had any issues. I made arrangements for them to call me at 3pm the next day. But after verifying the time and date several times, they called the next day early in the morning asking for the customer ID, which I didn't have with me. The number they called me from was a PA # although I was told to call them using an 844 number. I looked up the company names that day and saw that it was a scam on the AARP website. Although the next day I looked for both companies again on Google and they appear to be legitimate. I have since changed my bank information but will now have to spend more to allow a legitimate company to clean my computer and IPAD so I can do my taxes before the deadline. I am now reluctant to trust anyone who claims to assist with computer issues unless I know them or face to face access.

My personal home computer was hacked by someone claiming to be from Aspire Inc. A warning came across the computer from what looked like Apple or Mac saying security has been breached and call this number. I called the number 1-888-619-7599, spoke to “Amy” and guided her through steps that any other IT service would have asked me to do (remote in, show me the virus, etc.) “Amy” proceeded to show me an expired security certificate that needed renewed for $199.99. I proceeded to give bank card info and realized this was most likely a scam. I typed for her to leave the computer and then unplugged it completely- prior to her company being able to perform the “cleaning service” for 30-45 minutes. After I unplugged the computer and ended the call, I received several calls from British Columbia at 1-604-563-9622. During the call, I was told they would call me today to check to see if I was satisfied with the cleaning service. They have not called me. I am hoping I stopped the harm before it was too late. I was also told that I can call them at 1-877-706-0709 24/7/365 with any issues.

they took me for 299.99 and 199.99 saying they could fix my computer, once finding out that they are scammers. I asked them to leave my computer alone and not to call me any longer, They call at least 4 to 5 times a day and wont leave me alone. They say they are tech support . This started June 2020 when I couldnt get into my computer, They said they were working fo Microsoft.

BEWARE! FAKE tech support number “John Williams Security Officer” and his Indian friends make phone calls claiming your identity is compromised and at any moment you may face life altering events. They convince people to allow them remote access into their device to assess the damage. Once in, they put on a tech show of all the dangers you’re facing and then tell the victim the fastest way to fix the situation is by purchasing gift cards and giving them the security codes. They then have you call them on a separate line 206-452-1749 (burner phone) to stay on the phone with them while you make your purchase and have you read the gift card numbers once you’re back to your vehicle. Meanwhile, while they were in your computer system they install a virus and slyly add themselves as the administrator to your PC. In a matter of days, your system will lock up and a LOUD warning message pops up stating your system is compromised and provides a 833-556-7666 support number. mimicking Microsoft support. They then sell you a five year plan of “protection” for $499.00 and sign a contract for 5 year service under the company name of DIGITAL PC HELP MERCHANT ID “ASPIRE MARKETING.”
After doing a deep dive into these a*holes I found the initial phone number 877-706-0709 and the 833-556-7666 number are intertwined as calling them both I was put in touch with “John Williams” the security officer. I was not their victim, but an elderly man who I know very well was. $3000.00. Later, he sadly was fooled into thinking he was saving his identity because those jerks scared him that bad. They know what they’re doing, and they’re praying on the elderly. I have reported them to the police, FBI, FTC, and state officials.

Wow these guys really have thought this through. Professional scammers. Wish I would have seen these reviews before because they convinced a family member to purchase the $499 "Lifetime Support". They provided a full contract and everything. Same exact thing happened with the computer totally frozen with their warning pop up and the number to call at first. Not sure what to do if they can retain that full access to my computer even after I've blocked the payment.

The entire experience embarrasses me and makes me feel ashamed of my naivete. My experience duplicates the same as everyone else. They took and froze my computer with a SCREECHING ALARM and was told I had to call a certain number to fix and unlock the machine. I tried to close it down but that didn't work because the same screeching and warning was there. Looks like I'm the biggest fool because it cost me a whopping $549.00 for the unlock and forever future help with any issues. This happened in October2020 and I must say they were available for help on at least 2 separate occassions. They even placed their Tech Help phone number on my screen. About 2 weeks ago that number stopped working. It wasn't until then that I really paid attention to the contract and saw that their headquarters were in Ausrailia.

OMG they did the same to me today. I don't know what to do, they kept pushing and managed to get me to agree to $299.99 USD n a charge to my cc company $395.99 for basic coverage. My bank declined them twice, I felt pressured, they talked very fast, one of them Tony Blake cut me off continuously when I tried to get more information. They also go over a few times that if you have any problems or concerns that you are to CALL them not anyone else. Will my credit card company help me with this? Rayan, the guy i spoke to first kept saying what i should say to cc company...they froze my account and directed me call a microsoft ios number. At the end of the conversation Agnes? came on line, all 3 of them asked what time would be best to call for a review. I won't be answering the phone. They were calling from Louisville, KY but said they were in California and the company is based out of Sydney, Australia. After all said and done, they went through the contract quickly i kept trying to pull it back to read it and they kept asking to let them have control of mouse. Like a few others prior to me, they to were taken advantage of. I tried to cancel transaction on credit card as it is still pending, fingers crossed that my bank will stop the transcation before it goes through. How is this suppose to be a one-time clean-up and repair if they ask you call them if there are any concerns to contact them to fix n undoubtly will charge large amts of money to do this? Also, why did they ask me what % I pay for tax on purchases? did they charge that amount? Just realizing it now, but I have no access to print screen n have no clue how to get it to work again. if anyone has suggestions on how i may recover any of this pmt please advise.

Type of a scam Tech Support

I had the same experience as reported above. What should I have done when the alert first popped up on my screen?

Apple Support message online while searching.

A message popped up on my computer screen with the Microsoft emblem stating my computer was at threat for viruses. I called and spoke with someone named Anna who stated she needed to diagnose the problem and before I knew it she was inside my computer showing me threats to my computer, software that had stopped working. It didn’t feel right but for some reason I stayed in the phone. She stated it would be $249 to fix the problem. Against my better judgement I agreed they then transferred to security specialist to educate me on how to prevent these attacks which was basically someone trying to sell me virus protection for an obscene amount of money, in the thousands. I declined this and was told I would get 6 months of virus protection free with the “fix”. But the fee all of a sudden changed to 279.99 for a consultation fee and taxes. The company that I was talking to said they were Smart Help Store and the third party merchant who I paid was Aspire Marketing. Anna, the woman in my computer brought up a website for Smart Help Center as I was questioning the legitimacy. Paperwork appeared for Aspire Marketing and she clicked my signature and sent it through my email as I was asking to read the agreement. I felt very pressured and was concerned about my computer and they preyed on fear. They installed some free virus software and were in my computer for a long time. I fear they stole private information. The Senior Technician who was supposedly working on my computer said his name was Mark Rauth. Days after they kept calling for a “feedback” call and I ignored the calls. I did end up talking to my credit card company and disputed the charge. After that the same person who was calling for feedback called and left a message stating she was calling from Aspire Marketing about the disputed charge and wanted to resolve it on their end. The calls were “unknown” coming from different regions and some calls were toll free.

My computer locked up and their number appeared to call them. At first they said they were Microsoft. They charged me $350. To fix my computer, then a few days later they said they charged me too much and wanted to refund $150. By me opening my online bank account so they could transfer from their bank. I told them I would not open my bank account for them online and they would have to refund the $150. To my credit card. They said if I refused to open my bank account online then I would loose the partial refund. I repeated that there was no chance that I would open my bank account online for them. I don’t have an example of the screen that appeared when they locked my computer. They said that malware did it. But I now believe they were the malware, so I would pay them to unlock my computer. Thank you

They tried to take that amount twice but my bank stopped the 2nd transaction. Called to get money back after now that realize was a scam but they refused and cursed at me. Have contacted my bank to report the fraud to try to get money back.

I called them to see if my gmail was hacked into, and they asked for my email and password. They also told me that I had security on my gmail account since Dec 21, 2015 and it was expiring soon. The person I spoke to told me his name was Ronnie Wilson. He told me with the security I had no one was able to hack into my account but I would need to add protection if I wanted to keep it that way. He first offered me a five year plan that was $150, and I let him know I could not afford that, so he offered $40 off of that price. I declined, and asked him if they had a one year plan. He said yes, for $49.99. I took that plan because all the while I thought I was speaking to gmail customer service. After hanging up, I get a message on my gmail account stating that I got a New Sign in from another computer. I didn't think anything of it until the IP said India, and it asked me "was this you?" Now why would Gmail ask me that if I was actually speaking to a Gmail customer representative? The next thing that happened was I got a text message from my back for the amount of $49.99 from Aspire Marketing. Well, I didn't speak to Aspire Marketing. Who I spoke to was Ronnie Wilson, a gmail customer service representative as he stated on the phone. I started to do research about Aspire Marketing online, and turned out to be all bad reports, mostly scams. So, I called back about 15 minutes later and asked to speak to Ronnie. I told Ronnie I didn't feel comfortable and I would like my money back. He then told me he wasn't going to give my money back. I asked him if this was truly Gmail how aren't you able to give my money back? I told him that my bank automatically sends me texts messages any time something is taken out of my account, and it said Aspire Marketing and Not Google nor Gmail. I also told him that Gmail had also sent me a notice stating that someone logged onto my account from India, and I also knew that Google is an American company. He told me that Aspire Marketing is just the company they use and he was in Florida and the IP address just said India. I told him yes it states the IP address is in India, but it also states that the location where the computer was used is NEARBY the IP address. He than began to get louder and louder with me, telling me he wasn't giving me my money back. He said he had already installed the program. I told him we did this 15 minutes ago, uninstall it and refund my money. I told him you cannot tell someone they cannot have their money back within minutes of doing something. He told me that it was like going to the grocery store, taking a bite out of the food and trying to return it. I told him no, that is NOTHING alike at all. I said, it's more like getting a new phone and taking it back the same day, which you can do since you claim to be in Florida. Anyway, this went on for awhile. I had to threaten him with my lawyer and told him I was disputing the charge, and reporting them to the BBB. He said he wasn't scared of any and didn't care, but he finally gave in and claimed that he was giving me a refund of the 49.99, and he just wouldn't eat for Christmas as if it were my fault that he was scamming people. He never asked for my card number again so he could refund it even though I asked repeatedly if he needed it to refund it, and he said no. I told him I didn't understand how he was going to refund my money if he didn't have the card number. I mean isn't it against the law to keep card numbers if it's not a reoccurring purchase is what I asked him. He said all he would have to do was reverse the transaction...Anyway, it's been quite the headache. I've had to change my gmail again and freeze my account right before Christmas.

This is something else on the website they claim they do, but they never mentioned it to me. They claim to have all calls on recorded lines. We will see.
