- Austin, TX, USA • Feb 12, 2024

I received an email from '[email protected]' saying they had found my resume "from one of job websites for Shipments Expert position". (I did not apply to any positions under that title.) The email did not include much about the job description, so I emailed back asking what website they had found my resume on. They responded from a different email ([email protected]) with their own website: https://atlanticlogisticsusa.com. They provided a job description as "You will receive customer's orders which will be delivered to your home address by UPS, FedEX, or USPS. The orders will be coming from stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Zappos, and others. Usually people order apparel, accessories, small appliances, a lot of electronics, basically whatever they can get cheaper in the US than in their countries.

You need to check all the items against the invoices, check them for any kind of damages, make pictures, make copies of paperwork, report the packages, get them prepared for shipment internationally by sea and by air." This job description was immediately clear to me that it was a scam, however I did also find a post that made it clear that this email has reached out to others before.
