I received this unsolicited email:

my name is Emily Dawn and I am a Junior HR Manager at ATST Company. It is my pleasure to extend the following offer of employment to you on behalf of ATST Company.

The hours: 45 per week, 9 hours daily, 9am-6pm. This position is offered subject to background and address checks, as well as satisfactory completion of the one-month probationary period during which time your performance will be reviewed.

Position: This is a permanent position and you will therefore be entitled to all staff benefits. Your starting date will be the date of acceptance of the first delivery.

Your title will be Logistics Coordinator, and you will report to the Company’s Logistics Manager.

This is a full-time home-based position. While you are employed at ATST Company, you will not engage in any other employment, consulting or other business activity (whether full-time or part-time) that would create a conflict of interest with the Company, or prevent you from completing your assigned duties in a timely manner. By signing the employee agreement with us, you will confirm that you have no contractual commitments or other legal obligations that would prohibit you from performing your duties for the Company.

Cash Compensation:

The Company will pay you a starting salary at the rate of $2900, and $3100 following months. This salary will be subject to adjustment pursuant to the Company’s employee compensation policies in effect from time to time. Your first salary is due 30 days after you receive your first delivery, but starting with your second month you will be getting paid bi-weekly.

Methods of Compensation:

Mailing Check (2-Day Priority Mail USPS)/Direct Deposit transfer.

Employee Benefits: As a regular employee of the Company, you will be eligible to participate in a number of Company-sponsored benefits. In addition, you will be entitled to paid vacation in accordance with the Company’s vacation policy. (details described in the employee agreement)

Withholding: All forms of compensation referred to in this letter agreement are subject to reduction to reflect applicable withholding and payroll taxes and other deductions required by law.

So, I replied, stating that I did not recall applying for this job. This is the response from the company:

here is a more detailed description of a daily routine below.

You will receive packages at your home residence, some of them may not require a signature, hence please check you door regularly in case they would just leave them at the door without ringing the doorbell. If there are any packages coming to you, we will send you an email with a notification and detailed info on what is coming (delivery company, tracking number, customer's name and the inside item). However, please note, that sometimes packages can arrive without my prior notice, in cases of early deliveries, or when the customer, or the sender provides us with the tracking info too late. All the items are purchased from the US on-line stores, the packages will all be small-medium size, usually under 10 lb, and will contain only legal items like electronic devices, gadgets, hunting, fishing, sports gear, garments.

Basically, delivery might happen any time during the day from 9 am till 6 pm, but mostly in the afternoon, making the hours before noon a great time to ship out the deliveries from the previous day. That's why we need to be sure that you will be staying at home during these hours to receive the pkg. Needless to say, you should be available by phone and email.

When you receive a package take a photo of the original shipping label, carefully open the shipping box and check the condition of the inside item/s (no need to unwrap, or open the item itself), take some photos of the items inside. Send me the photos in an attachment to an email and after that I will send you the new prepaid shipping label via email,which you will have to print out (standard printer and paper), and place it on the pkg. instead of the old one.

Then deliver the pkg. to the post office/FedEx location, depending on the provided label, and ship it out. You should request to be provided with a cashier receipt, picture of which is also required as a confirmation of shipment. Once we receive that, the pkg. will be marked as "sent" in our system.

You may be getting around 5 deliveries per week during your first month and up to 1 to 2 pkg. per day after your probation period, depending on the activity of the customers

I replied wanting more information and this was their response:

if you are ready to become a part of our team of dedicated professionals, we require you to provide the following initial documents, required for mandatory background and residential address checks:

a copy of your ID for the background check (performed for every potential candidate)

a bill statement, or a piece of mail with your current actual address and your name on it as a confirmation of your address.

You can send these to me via e-mail (attach clear and readable photos of your documents to the e-mail to me).

As soon as we complete the checking procedures (takes 3-4 hours) you will receive an original employment agreement from me, I-9 and W4 forms for official taxation.

You will need to print out the employment paperwork, sign and fill the forms and send photos of it back to me via e-mail. After I receive a signed employment agreement from you, the first package may arrive within the next 3 - 5 business days.

Like a fool, I sent a picture of my driver's license and a copy of my electric bill. Then they sent me forms for me to sign.:

please find the official employment papers attached. Revise the employee agreement carefully and ascertain that your personal data is correct. Sign the last three pages of the employee agreement and fill in W4 Form page 1 and i-9 Form page 1 Section 1. Please take clear readable photos of the signed and filled pages and send them to me via email. I will only need the hard copies when your eligibility period is over. All in all, you need to send me five photos: one for each Form (w4 and i-9) and three pages with your signatures on the employee agreement pages with our company's seal.

Please reply to this email to confirm, that you have received the paperwork.

We provide two payment options: a mailing check (2-Day Priority Mail USPS) and a direct deposit transfer. We use a mailing check by default, but if you wish to use the direct deposit option, please see the direct deposit authorization form in the attachment. Fill it and send back to me same way as we did with all the other documents. Please leave the employee ID # field blank.

Alternatively, you can request your bank to provide the DD info and then send it to me in the digital form

I decided to call the company and I never made contact with a human being during normal business hours. So I looked them up on the ScamPulse.com website and no such company found. Which led me to believe I was being scammed. After a google search, I found a scam alert on this company and I am now reporting it here.
