ATT Directv Reports & Reviews (9)

I received a call from AT&T Directv and a voice mail message regarding a 50% discount on my satellite service for a 24-month period. Stupidly, I thought that my service was much higher than new customers for the same service so i believed them. I also know of people that negotiate for lower rates for the service who end up paying less than i do. To get the discount which was in conjunction with Ebay, i was required to pay $500 via Ebay gift cards purchased at no cost (which is weird in the first place as most gift cards have a $4-$10 fee). I had to complete the transaction within a couple of hours and was given a authorization code DTVXXX and a number to call when i had the Ebay cards. They would also replace my existing satellite equipment and scheduled an appointment for a technician to come to my home. I regretfully purchased the Ebay cards and the following day, i received a text that "We regret to inform you that there is a transaction error on your E BAY payment. Kindly call the AT&T billing department urgently at 8663042013 / 8882718276 to resolve the problem. Regards, DTV". When i called i was on hold for quite awhile and then a gentleman answered the phone and informed me that Ebay's system experienced a problem and i would need to resend the payment of $500 to activate the discount but i would receive a $700 refund of my initial payment.

When i made the initial call to activate the Direct TV discount with the $500 payment, they also offered a discount on my Verizon phone account but this offer included a choice of either an Ipad (valued at $499) or an unlocked cell phone of my choice (valued at $1100) . The cost of these two options was $900 and $1,000 respectively and would reduce my phone bill to $75 a month for 36 months. Luckily, i didn't fall for this one!

50%off AT&T directv bill.Pay upfront, Get $400 eBay card at Walgreens and call with number.

After I qualified for a rewards card from signing up for a new AT&T account. Someone from att contacted me over text. They must be an employee because they had my phone number, my information, as well as the fact that I had just received a rewards card. They then said there was an issue and that I should give them my card information so they could sort it out for me. As soon as I gave them my card number, they disappeared.

You would get 50% off your monthly bill if you paid the first four reduced months payments on an eBay card, when you bought the card you were supposed to call the billing department back and then give them a activation code and if you did it today you would get $100 back from DirecTV and if he did it tomorrow you would get $50 off from DirecTV

Our complaint: They ask me to pay $390.00 and we will receive $100.00 gift card back and our directv will be paid up for a year. Then, they went into a directv account and loaded the premium channels on my account. They stated the will be free for two for two years. for free. If, I pay $740.00 want have to pay a cell phone bill for a year and a free Apple Mac book free. Then, my cell phone bill, I will pay half price for the next year. They stated is I pay $240.00 I want have to pay my Apple Watch bill for a year. If I pay $760.00, I will get an apple iPhone 12 max half price. They told me to log into my account and they stated your bill had been paid and my account was at 0 balance, that is why I thought they was legit. This morning they called and told me the eBay cards for $760.00 didn’t go through and they wanted me to get cards worth $760.00, to send to them and I will receive $1000.00 back. The manager called and told me the information. The person I was talking with Mark Davis, the person who talked with me the day before wasn’t in yet. He stated if, I didn’t get the eBay gift cards, I wan’t get the $760.00 back. Then, I told him I’m not giving him another dime and I want a refund. Then, I called Att to inquire about the company. Att stated that was not them and they took the premium channels off and reset my password. I’m trying to stop them from doing this to someone else and to see if, I can get my money back. These are scammers and they need to be stopped. I have contacted Att, my bank, Winn Dixie and eBay to try to recover my money. I went to Winn Dixie in Columbus, Ga to purchase the gift cards. I have the original receipts and gift cards.

The person contacted both my spouse via text and cell phone calls. When we answer the one call it was an automated message to contact ATT DIrectv about a promotion on our Directv account. Silly us called and fell for the scam. They got us to extend our contract at half the amount and pay via eBAY credit cards. $450. When I realized it was a scam is when I paid the Supervisor Shaq was too pushy and i asked to be put on hold and I then called the real At&T and learned for sure we had been scammed. They got our pin number to account only and account number and last 4 of a social. I quickly changed our actual account information so that they would not have access. Somehow they were able to provide channels on our Directv to get us to finish that part. I know there is nothing you can do but if sharing this will help some other person from being suckered like us.

I received a voicemail from an automated voice claiming to be AT&T DIRECTV. The voicemail claimed that they were offering 50% off. When I called back I was asked my name and phone number, which I provided. I asked about the details of the offer and was immediately asked my pin which raised red flags with me. I asked them to verify some of my information before I gave any additional personal information. They asked what information I would like so they could confirm and I requested them to tell me my address. They did not respond and immediately hung up.
