EJ Gift Cards Reports & Reviews (14)

I recently bought a gift card for Ulta and within an hour of my purchase went to the store to use it. When I checked out at Ulta there was a zero balance on the card. Reached out to EJ because of their ONE DAY GUARANTEE on cards and they looked into and stated “Report: Investigation Closed. We have found that the Gift Card was used by the seller. A full refund will be provided within 7-8 days.” That time has come and gone and no refund. You would think that since I just gave you my money for this gift card immediately THAT HAD A ZERO BALANCE ON IT they would refund you immediately with some type of apology or compensation which further proves that they don’t care about their customers and are just scammers.
The reason that they only give a 1 day guarantee and send you gift cards with $0 balance on them is because this company is fraudulent and scams their customers. They hope that customers don’t use the cards immediately so that they can claim that it is past their lame 1 day guarantee and just keep the money. Most other reputable gift card companies will offer at least a 45 day guarantee on their cards. DO NOT BUT FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR MONEY. You have been warned…

They never sent me the bit coin , even went so far as to give me a bogus Bitcoin account that I never gave them saying that that's the one that I had provided them now they won't respond to my emails or anything obviously they stole my money they're a bunch of scam artists
Stole my money also

I purchased a gift card that I was not able to use because another user had already loaded the card to their account. I immediately sent a request for resolution via email. I came back from vacation to a reply email requesting I submit the request online. I did this and they respond that I didn't submit the request in time! BEWARE - DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE THAT THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY - not worth it... many other vendors have incredible customer service and will not make you jump through hoops for resolution. Other discount, gift card sites can be found on www.cardbear.com. Personally, I've used Cardcookie and Raise - both have incredible customer service. Don't take your chances with this scam company. I've read many reviews of this company not honoring the refund, so it's not worth it. BEWARE - STAY AWAY or at least be very careful if you want to take the chance!

I purchased a $100.00 Home Depot digital gift card from the company EJGIFTCARDS.COM on March 27, 2020 for the total charge of $90.00

The company emailed me the digital card which should have had a value of $100.00 on the digital card but had no balance on the card ($0.00)

I then contacted the company on March 30, 2020 regarding there being no balance on the card. They stated that I would need to file a claim directly on their website which I did on March 30, 2020.

On April 4, 2020 I received an email stating that the claim has been resolved and that the card was found to have been cancelled due to fraud and that I will receive a refund within 14-days.

14-days came and went and I then opened up the dispute with the credit card charge.

I did not hear anything from the merchant for weeks and I received notice that Citi had closed the dispute in the merchant’s favor. I called Citi and they explained that ejgiftcards.com had sent them over some documentation which read as follows:

Response by ejgiftcards.com:

“The services were received and when applicable also used. The customer was sent a physical product on the subscription date and unless returned properly with an RMA, the customer is both stealing the product and attempting to obtain a refund for a product that has either already arrived to them or is still on the way.”

They are telling the credit card investigator one thing and then emailing me telling me a refund is on the way when in fact they were telling the credit card dispute investigator that I was a thief trying to steal a physical card plus get a refund. This was very insulting. I have all of the emails saved. Ejgiftcards.com did not send me a physical gift card they sent me a digital gift card to my email. They completely lied with the investigation of the dispute. After the digital card was received with a $0.00 balance ejgiftcard.com acknowledged the issue and promised to send a refund.

Their statements are a complete fabrication. The services were not received, not used, no physical product, claiming I’m trying to steal the card with $0.00 balance. I was more shocked when the credit card company sided with them after the lies, they told.

I am in the process of appealing the decision with my credit card company by providing them with the email proofs acknowledging the issue and promising a refund then stringing me a long for 2 months.

I contacted the merchant on May 29, 2020 regarding the refund having not been received.

The merchant responded telling me to wait another 14 days with a new refund date of June 12, 2020.

I am asking myself if the merchant is just playing some kind of game with me. Why would they not be able to just issue a refund but instead schedule a refund date 2 weeks away?

I waited the 2 weeks and still have yet to receive the $90.00 refund, so I contacted the merchant again on June 12, 2020 letting them know that the refund has not been received.

The merchant contacted me on the same day telling me the refund will be issued in another 2 to 3 hours.

It is now June 15, 2020 and no refund has been received. I feel so strung along here. What do I have to do to simply get a refund? How many hoops do I need to jump through?

I would like to receive my rightful refund of $90.00

This is not right; I should not have to be dragged a long and made to wait so long. I did not receive what I purchased therefore I simply want my money back.

Why would a company risk so much over $90.00?

If anyone is reading this, I urge you to just buy your gift cards from a different company.

EJ Gift Cards is a scam. I purchased a gift card with a supposed balance on it, but when I received the code, it had a $0.00 balance. Do not use.

EJGiftcards resells giftcard codes from people that don't want or need them. They don't do much to verify that the code is unused before accepting the code as for sale on their website, so often a user will purchase a code that has in fact been used. Once that sale has been made, but company goes into silent mode and stops responding to support requests. You will receive a generic email with a 14 to 21 day timeline to resolve your issue. The customer support number goes straight to voice mail and after several attempts to contact them via web, support email and phone, I had to resolve through my bank. They have made zero attempt to get back to me to resolve this issue for me amicably, and I am convinced my bank will have to get me my money back for services I paid for. Meanwhile, EJGiftcards.com receives a 3 week interest free loan from me until they confirm. Terrible customer service, and a very dishonest representation of what you will receive.

Bought TALBOTS gift card for $35.00 expecting $50.00 giftcard. Unable to use gift card. Contacted company multiple times and getting responses like “we are looking into it” but unable to get on the phone with a real person. It’s been over a month and I just want a refund at this point.

You will not get the product you paid for. And you will not get a refund.

Bought a ebay gift card from them, the gift card does exist, but with a zero balance. File a claim on 7/25, and have emailed them every single week since then to get an update on the refund. Andrea was EXTREMELY helpful by keeping me in the loop of what's happening with the refund:

"Thank you for contacting EJ Gift Cards. We understand the importance of getting your refund to you as soon as possible. Please take into account that a thorough investigation must take place. Prior to any refund being given out the Claims Department provides efficiency with dealing with any fraudulent activity. We appreciate your patience and we want to resolve this issue to the best of our ability.

Please enjoy the upcoming weekend. A resolution will be given by next week. If your refund hasn't been processed/given notice of the progress to your claims, please contact us this upcoming Tuesday our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 10AM-6PM Eastern Standard Time."

You'll notice that when you email them, you'll get a response from Andrea, their head of customer service, but the email is sent to someone name "Sam Smith". Save your money, stay away from "Ejgiftcards", keep your hard earned cash in your pocket, not with Uncle Sam.

Had to file a claim on my credit card eventually, after letting them toy me around for way too long. just shy of 2 months.

Update 10/10/2018:

They replied to this review below apologizing for the inconvenience. It's now exactly 1 week short of FOUR MONTHS with no conclusion to their "investigation". I have also not heard from them since a month ago. I had to file a claim with my credit card, but then found out that they disputed my dispute, so then I had to spend a couple hours to gather and provided all the documentation to my credit card company.

Thank you EJGIFTCARDS for such awesome scams and trouble! Don't believe all the fake reviews on trustpilot. Check out their BBB rating by going to google and typing "BBB EJGIFTCARDS". I'll be filing a claim with them too.

I INITIATED A TRANSACTION WITH THIS COMPANY TO SELL MY GIFT CARD. I RECEIVED SEVERAL EMAILS OF THE PROCESS AND THEN WAS TOLD PAYMENT HAD BEEN INITIATED. WHEN I SENT AN EMAIL TO CHECK ON THE PAYMENT, I RECEIVED A RESPONSE SAYING THEY WERE UNABLE TO SEND PAYMENT BECAUSE MY GIFT CARD NUMBER WAS ENTERED INCORRECTLY AND TO REENTER IT IMMEDIATELY. I WENT TO REENTER IT ONLY TO FIND THE ORDER HAD BEEN SUDDENLY DELETED AND THE SYSTEM SAYING THE GIFT CARD WAS ALREADY USED. THE NEXT DAY SUDDENLY THE ORDER WAS BACK IN THE SYSTEM SO I SENT AN EMAIL AGAIN SAYING TO CANCEL THE ORDER SINCE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PAY ME. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL SAYING THE GIFT CARD WAS ALREADY SOLD AND THEY WOULD INITIATE PAYMENT. THEY CANNOT INITIATE PAYMENT BECAUSE I USED ANOTHER COMPANY. EVERY TIME I CALL THE NUMBER IT JUST PUTS ME ON HOLD SAYING WAIT TIME IS 7-10 MINUTES AND NO ONE ANSWERS. I AM GETTING RESPONSES FROM THE EXACT SAME PERSON IN CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERYTIME I EMAIL. THE GIFT CARD IS NO GOOD BUT THEY HAVE MY INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM NOW. I WANT THE ORDER CANCELLED. ATTACHED YOU WILL FIND THE EMAIL PDF OF THE ENTIRE PROCESS. THE WEBSITE SAYS IF THE GIFT CARD IS NO GOOD THEN THEY WILL CHARGE BACK THE SELLER. WELL I NEVER GOT PAID FOR IT IN THE FIRST PLACE AND WAS TOLD BY SO CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR THAT I WASN'T GOING TO BE.

I ordered a Starbucks gift card from these people in or around early June. The card was fraudulent and had no funds on it. I contacted them and was told I needed to file a claim, which I did. I waited a couple of weeks and called the number. After holding nearly an hour a woman by the name of Andrea gave me some bs about how they need to find out through Starbucks what went wrong. I then received an email saying I wouldn’t get my refund until September, 3 months after they originally took my money. I was outraged and emailed to tell them that, and received an email that my investigation was closed and I’d receive my refund in 3-5 business days. Now it’s been 7 business days (and a month and a half from when they stole my money) and I still have not received a penny back. I emailed again to ask what the hell is going on and again received an email saying I should expect my refund in September!! These people are totally unethical and dishonest and have obviously stolen my money. I am disgusted and want to warn everyone to steer clear of these scammers.

This is the absolute worst experience I've had with a company in a very long time. I attempted to purchase gift cards and received error after error trying to complete the purchase. I buy $400K worth of goods online each year, and never have this much trouble placing an order. The website first reported that there were problems with the card information I put in. So I tried another card, then another, then another. Same issue with every card. Tried to contact customer support during business hours, which they state on the recorded message are 10-5 M-F, but I was calling during that time and they said they were closed. Finally got through to someone after multiple attempts and they seemed to have no idea that their website was having any problems. The lady I spoke with suggested that I try another server, but when I asked if that would be another server on their end or on my end, she couldn't answer that question. I asked if they had technical support, and she couldn't provide a straight answer about that either.

She suggested that I just try again later and wouldn't give me any more help. So I decided to remote in to my home computer, and try a completely new set of information. I set up a new account using my girlfriend's email, and attempted to place an order with her credit card. The website stalled while the order was going through, and eventually gave me an error in the form of a pink bar across the top with the words "Amount doesn't match", whatever that means. That was really strange. My cart was now empty though, so I went to look to see if the cards I was trying to purchase were still available. One of them that was $500 was gone, but the other $800 worth that I was trying to buy were still there. I put those in my cart and I tried again using the same card and address information, and got the pink bar with a different error "Order ID mismatch", again, not helpful or descriptive of what the problem was. I tried emptying my cart completely, clearing my browser cache, and tried going through the entire process again. This time the order looked like it was going to go through. The circle on the submit button spun round and round, but after 3-4 minutes of doing that, the entire website crashed.

I decided to check with my bank to see what was going on with my credit card, and found that the first transaction had posted as a temporary $1200 transaction. My available credit had been reduced by $1200 accordingly. Without making any more order attempts I waited for 15 minutes and checked my credit card again. Now the $800 transaction had posted and my available credit reduced by a total of $2000.

I contacted customer service again, and the lady was rude. I explained the problem I was having and the lady told me that I should have waited and the problem was that I had made too many attempts and the system was locking me out. That could not possibly be the problem because of the precautions I had made to not associate the first set of attempts with the second, using a different computer, user account, address, credit card, etc. The lady had no answer for me about this and then told me that the problem was with my bank and not with them. She said that if I had not received an order number or gift cards, that the order didn't go through. I asked why, then, were there two pending charges on my credit card, and she blamed it on my bank, stating that the money would be back within 7-10 business days. She told me that even though there is a temporary authorization on my card, the money didn't go through. We went round and round with the lady offering no possible solution to the errors. I explained that I planned to report this to the public by posting a review with screenshots and warnings about my experience. She told me to hang on, and then a guy got on the phone.

The guy must be the boss, and he was nice at first, but then after explaining what had happened, he was just as unhelpful as the lady, blaming my bank, and giving me the runaround with absolutely no attempt to provide resolution.

Claim to be a website that you can sell unwanted gift cards for cash or purchase gift cards at a reduced price. I purchased an H&M gift card, the webiste "timed out" during my purchase and went to an error message, however the charge went through on my credit card but I never received an email receipt or anything in my profile on their page showing I had purchased anything. They never responded to my email regarding this matter.

Sold my gift cards to them. Was supposed to send money to my PayPal account. When I contact them they say they have already sent payment, which is false. And also can not log in to my account from their website any longer.
