The scammer replied to my Facebook marketplace ad saying “she” was interested in purchasing my item immediately. She asked for my phone number so she could call when she was close by, and when I shared my cell number she sent me a Google Voice verification code to “make sure my post is real”. I stupidly shared that verification code back to her and she said my “number is verify problem, Do you have another cellphone??” I said no, and she pressed for another number from my family and friends, and that’s when I finally realized this was a scam and I would not provide. She stopped responding after. I’m worried what this person will do with my cell number.
