They called claiming they were from Microsoft and that the computer was compromised. They gained remote access to the computer then got info in regards to banks and social security number and the requested we go to Walmart to but 4 $500.00 gift cards to get money back that they say they deposited into our account. They actually show money there that they deposited but it was fraudulent

I received a call from Fake Microsoft to tell me that my IP address was being used fraudulently and I needed to change it if I stayed on the line for a representative.

I received an email stating "The following item has been shipped to your address." It showed a picture and had the invoice amount for $3,815.50. It gave an order number, if I had any questions I would need to call 1-855-500-0181. When I called the man with an accent stated he was with Microsoft.

I got a call today from a person stating that my account would be debited for $290.00 for a computer magazine,I don't own a computer. I called my bank to let them know, they didn't see any charges pendng out of my account.

There is a recorded message saying they are from Microsoft and your computer is infected and you need to call them back at 855-866-0699. When you call them back, someone with an Indian accent answers and tells you that if you have been called, it's because your ISP address is compromised and you need to let them remotely access your computer so they can find the corrupted files. When you look up the phone number, it shows up as a targeted marketing company.

At about 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, I was on the computer when I clicked on a button and immediately after that, there was a message on the screen alerting me that my computer has been blocked and I was urged to call the number in the popup window. 888-448-5333. I called the number and I spoke with one of the technicians that sounded like a foreigner. She asked me some questions about the purpose of my computer use. (I remember this happening to me about a couple of years ago when I had my other computer and both my husband and I gave this company our personal account number to access the fee of $199). She asked me to go to www.helpme.net and then gave further instructions asking me to type in my name and she also provided me with a key. She also asked me if I knew what IP was. I said no then she explained about internet protocol and went on about the urgency of paying a fee of $199 to fix the problem. I told her that I do not have that kind of money right now and that I would have to get some monies. I asked her if they could waive the fee and she said no. I asked to talk with her manager and he came on the phone. I asked him about waiving the fee of $199 or if there is a discount on this because I was not able to pay. I asked to speak with someone else who can help me in this and then a guy came on and explained to me that there was no waiver fee. He asked if I was able to pay for this and it seemed he was very irritated with my answers. I mentioned ScamPulse.com and immediately he tried to find a solution to my problem. The conversation was going nowhere. I did not feel comfortable or satisfied. I hope they are not tampering with my computer. I hope this helps someone else's situation. I did not give any personal account numbers, but I hope that after giving access to that woman technician, that they do not tamper with any of my information on my computer.
