The facebook page Benefits for Citizens reached out to tell me I was on a list of people who were owed money. The scammer originally reached out from another friend's page pretending to be them, telling me they saw my name on a list of benefits owed and that I would be hearing from this Benefits for Citizens page. The benefits page started contacting me telling me all about this power ball jackpot list I was on, proceed to send me "fake" proof they had so I would believe them, and I did. They scammed me out of 700.00 and got a copy of my license somehow, I then figured out that they were scamming me and told them to stop contacting me and I would be going to the police and also filing an FTC report. The scammers then sent me threatening messages on facebook messenger telling me if I didn't pay them an additional 500.00 that they would "ruin my life and cause me havoc by using my ID and my facebook to scam and commit crimes. Since hacking my facebook page they have reached out to more than half of my 1300 facebook friends trying to scam them out of money. They also reached out from a random phone number telling me they were "agent frank from facebook and if I gave him some information he could recover my page" I did not believe him as I know that facebook does not reach out to people via text messaging and I immediately blocked the phone number. I cannot get anyone from facebook to delete my scammed account so the scammers have continue to try and scam family and friends for money. I have filed a police report in my town, ftc report, got a new license number, froze my credit and even I have a copy protecting all my accounts from fraud. Hope this helps someone else from getting scammed or worse fraud identity.
