I gave him money because I thought this was legit because because I used one of my friend's names so I thought it was real. I get him fifteen hundred dollars receive nothing

"Agent Steve David" and his cohort "David R. Evans" who represented himself as an Oakland Police Officer #606 by his Facebook Profile picture, scammed both my Disabled wife and disabled wife and Adult daughter as well.

Date of Offense: 02-21-2023 1827 hrs, 1st contact made by "David R. Evans" via Facebook, then by his recommendation to contact "Agent Steve David" via Messenger for Grant to give funds to the disabled in need.

As a former Law Enforcement Officer. I maintain an Agency LEO and Military History Library in my Facebook Albums-Collection Profile.

Email used by Suspect: [email protected]

I am Permanently Disabled and early retired, as are my wife, have been scammed online by "Agent Steve David, and David R. Evans," we were offered a non-payback funding program.

Every one of my Facebook friends has been vetted as current or former LEO or Active or former Military, their Widows and family.

"David R. Evans" posted a Oakland PD badge to get into my LEO FB Group, he only has 20 friends and I did not catch it.

We saved every communication and screen-prints to WORD, including the impersonation as a Police Officer picture.

They have our Drivers License Pictures and monthly Social Security Disability payments, and I did contact Life-lock to upgrade to a Family Plan for higher Identity Protection.

Keeps harassing me by impairing a family friend. Ay first I thought it was legit but then "it" mentioned to call 682-231-0694 and/or "telegram" @agenttoddjwisner also Snapchat.. No government agent uses Snapchat and gives it out to the public lol from what I've known. I kept texting them Cease and Desist over and over until I research further what was going on. They reply with "shut up" "you're wrong" "stop it". I'm getting highly pissed at these [censored] scammers.
Federal Government Grant

My wife has a cousin who lives in Kentucky. The cousin said he had spoken to David Steven and had mailed him $2500 cash in bubble wrap and got $90,000.00. Then the cousin sent her a link to contact Agent David Steven with Federal Government Grant to get a $90,000 government grant which she wouldn't have to pay back. We contacted him. I asked for a phone number, but he wouldn't give me one. His link is https://M.me/davidsteven245. David said her cousin got $90,000 two weeks ago. he said he wold help her get the money as soon ash she is honest with him. He asked for my wife's birth date, address said he issues billions of grants each year. He said Federal Grant programs are awarded each and every day. He said we need to meet the foundations of the government agencies requirements. He said the money was non-taxable and interest free. He said as a tax payer she was eligible. He said to remember there is differences between federal government loans and loans and we are not required to payback a federal government grant. He said we wold have to fill out some information. He said you will have to fill this form for security reasons to start the processing: name, male or female, name, address, phone number, hearing or deaf, do you have a car, do you own or rent, married or single, income, what we do for a living and do you want cash or check. Then he asked for a picture of her driver's license. Then he asked me to write the drivers license number. He sent a picture of his computer screen, and asked us to keep it confidential to avoid double claiming and unscrupulous acts. Then he asked for my Social Security number, which I gave him. Then he said we had qualified to receive a federal government grant. Then he gave me a badge number, serial number, claim number, and ticket number to give to the delivery man for security protocol. Then he said we would need to pay the security and clearance fee. He had a big list of grant money. If I paid $16,000 I could get $1 million. I said I wanted $90,000. He asked if I had the $2500. I said no, I would have to borrow it. He told me to keep it confidential as he has had other people claims others people money. He sent a picture of himself in a suit and red tie with a flag in the background. I told him I had the money. He said "Okay, go to nearest Walmart, and buy a bubble mailer, put in the cash, and seal it up. He said take it to the nearest FedEx store, and ship it next day delivery no signature required on delivery. He told me to mail it to R*** C******, *** ********* Ave, Pasadena, CA *****. Once you are done, send me the tracking number. How long is it going to take you to get this done. Asked if I was still with him. I said yes. He said he would email me a grant certificate, and that I had nothing to worry about. I asked him to be honest with me. I asked for proof of government employment. He said he was not a rip off, and the money would be at my door in less than 24 hrs, once payment is received. He said he wanted me to have faith and get this done. He said the grant would be delivered to my door by UPS. I said I would send it by money order or Western Union. He said I was required to make the payment via bubble wrap to be fast and rapid. Once payment is confirmed, be rest assured to receive your grant money which will be delivered by UPS delivery company. I said I would get back with him. He said there is another means of payment and I could use that. I said I asked for proof, show me. He sent 4 pics: UPS drivers, a woman receiving a box from UPS. He said the other payment is method is bitcoin, and asked if I knew where they were located. I said no. He said he would send me the locations for bitcoin machines. Next day, he says "Hello, how are you doing", and later on said "Are you there". We were going to take out a loan. We went to UPS and asked if they deliver cash, and he said no. I asked if I could mail cash, and he said no.

I received a private message from a person I thought was my Uncle. These massages continued for weeks. He told me he received a Federal Grant for $80,000 and he had to pay them $800 to get this money. He then said that I was on the Federal Grant list and if I paid $400 they would give me 35,000. All I had to do was go to a store and buy Google play gift cards and give them pictures of the front and backs of the cards and I would get the money. I did just that and they said they needed more money to release the, they called the money, the package. I fell for this hook, line, and sinker!!

I asked one of his sons, my cousin, if this Facebook page was his Father. His answer was, this person is not my Dad. I did not answer anymore of his messages until he told me his real name.

Now they are asking for another $800 to RELEASE THE PACKAGE!!

A long time friend messaged me and told me about a grant her animal rescue group had received from the federal government.

She told me that since I had rescue animals I would be eligible for one. She said she would put me in touch with the Claimant in charge of the Federal grant program. My friend name was ****** ********. The claiments name was Jennifer Reedy. She friended me on Facebook and contacted me thru messenger. She told me exactly what to do. At first I said this sounds like a scam and I don't even have $500. So then I thought that was the end of it. Then ******ย started messaging me again telling how much good the grant did for them. I knew she had gotten grants for HASRA so went along with it. What a mistake! It was a scam.******* facebook account had been hacked and she never put out a notice warning her friends.nd

Scammed with money.

- Horseshoe Bay, TX, USA

They reached me thru facebook messenger as if it was coming from a fb friend. The message was to text 531-235-6713 and ask for the agent in charge of Federal govt grants. When I did this they texted back saying I qualified for the money and would I fill out an application which asked for my address, mothers name, marital status, gender, email, occupation and mo income. I became suspicious and looked on the inet which then became apparent this was a scam. This was all done through texting.

I was in class and I had gotten a message on Facebook from a person portraying themselves as my coach. We were conversating and "she" was telling me about the Grant and how "she" have gotten $50,000 from it. I was asking her side conversations and I realized that she was not answering the questions that I asked her. The scammer gave me a number to get more information. I texted the number and they were being very forceful asking me personal information(besides my social security)They also asked if I had cashapp. I said yes to having cash app but I unlinked my card ASAP. I later realized it was a scam.

- Eden, NC, USA

I was first contacted by Instagram from a good friend for many years requesting to follow me. I accepted because I had no reason not too. Her face page was her and her family. It started with her asking how I was doing and I asked about her an her family. They then proceeded to tell me that they had received a 50,000 grant that they didn't have to pay back and that they know I had a family member who had been sick for several years and needed monetary help at one time. The sent me a text number and told me to get in touch with them and apply for a grant to help her. I have known this person for years and at first didn't have any reason to disbelieve because this grant was based on need due to Covid. The more I ask about this grant I was at first lured by the need to be sincere with them so they could help me. I just had a funny feeling that something wasn't right because it sounded too good to be true. I reached out to my friend and she said she never sent anything like this so I immediately stopped communicating with them before I gave any information out thank goodness.

A facebook friend of mine, their profile has been cloned and I received messages from them pushing me to call a # to claim government grant money. I kept playing along to see how much info they would provide. They directed me to message a Williamson David on Facebook.

These people need to be stoped [ scammer offered grants in varying amounts based on amount paid upfront]ย

A scam artist on my friends list contacted me (picture inserted) & told me about an โ€œIMFโ€ program stating If I sign up Iโ€™ll win $150,000 like she did. Me thinking it was real I continued to talk to this person. As I continued to communicate with this individual I started to realize that this is a scam & I let this person get $50 out of me. A man portraying to be โ€œ Agent Derek Whiteโ€ says you have to buy 3 Steam gift cards & put $100 on each & the winning money will be activated. I contacted the person who told me about this real Facebook page & I asked her was that her texting me & she said no so I immediately called Derek white out on his bluff

Scammer contacted me using one of my friends on MessengerApp. Advised he won $20,000.00 and said he saw my name on the list too, did I collect also? When I questioned what, he or she sent me the phone number to check if my name was on list and that I'm ready to collect. I was in contact with someone who used the name, Agent Guillermo Hernandez. I was on the list, and would receive the money by UPS the next day. Needed to pay $500.00 for handling fee. Was I ready?

That's when I called my friend to see if this was legit, of course it was not and now I'm reporting this incident to whomever can try to stop them. I have the running script on my phone for both the scammer in Messaging App. and Messenger App.

Whoever calls or texts you says that you qualify for a federal government grant, but then the start charging for processing fees, stampimg fee, delivery fee. I lost $1300, but they were still asking for another $2000, and I told I wasn't paying anymore. If the government was offering the money they wouldn't charge anything for it.

- Manteo, NC, USA

A friend emailed me and told me they where approved for a grant. Then I text the number everything seemed legit. They wanted a pic of my Id and all kinds of info. Then they asked me to pay to receive my federal grant, thatโ€™s when I knew something was wrong
