Federal Reserves Bank Department Reports & Reviews (1)

A man called (1-800-111-0002) and said I was randomly chosen out of 1700 people to receive a free grant of $9800 for a car, education, or bills to use. That it would be absolutely free, I would not have to pay anything at all and that I could receive that money today in cash at a Walmart, walgreens or wired transaction. He transferred me to a Thomas Brown (929-359-3503, NY). Went to Walgreens and he had me buy a $250 dollars "google play" electronic card, gave him the numbers in the back of it, and then transferred me to another person Sarah Smith (202-596-6498, Washington D.C.) who then gave me numbers for money tracking through Western Union Bank. She then said that the numbers were not activated yet, but that I would have to spend $489 on the transferred money but I would receive that back on top of the $250 and the grant of $9800. She said I would have to go buy a "google pay" electronic card again. Where I then realized, in fact... I was being scammed. Told her I would call her back, but obviously not going to.
