I went online to register for a federal EIN tax Id number to set up an estate account for my mom who passed. Thr for looked like an IRS website and it requested all my personal information including social security number including my moms Social security number. I was suspicious when they sent an email asking to confirm my Social Security number, thr I called the number in the email and there was only a voicemail so I left a message. The I received a text from Wells Fargo asking if my purchase on FreeMsg: Please reply Y if you recognize $277.00 @EIN TAX N GAS @7-ELEVEN from Wells Fargo card 9345. Else reply N. STOP to stop msgs.

The EIN TAX and @7-ELEVEN did not seem right, I closed my credit card and reputed it to Wells Fargo. I Also emailed the company and said they are a fraud and I was going to report them and they replied saying they aren’t a friad and they would refund my money. I think they just did that to keep me from reporting them. I did find the real IRS site and registered for an EIN number and it was free.
