I was emailed about a job offer for Florida Blue as a Customer Service Representative. I have applied to so many businesses I was sure that this must have been one I applied for. Once I replied to the email I was sent over a questionnaire to fill out and send back, in which I did. After a few back and forth, I received the email saying congratulations, I got the job. I was sent over a very detailed email of what was going to happen next in the hiring process as well as an offer letter to sign and email return with photo copies of my license. They talked about training, equipment purchasing, and many zoom meetings to be had with my direct manager, finance department, and management team. After the everything was filled bout singed and sent over I got another email with some more information about the job and what to expect in the next coming days/weeks. I was told initially that the check would be mailed out to me. I received a text message the next day saying that this was the new form of communication. I never received any phone calls prior to any of this. In the text message they said that I would be receiving an e-check that I would have to deposit through my banks mobile banking app in order to get the money for the equipment. They said all that was needed was the full name of the bank as it is on my statements. At this point I didn't feel comfortable or positive about the job anymore. Seemed too good to be true. A remote position, 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, and a starting pay of 30$ an hour. Dream come true. I finally did a little more research of my own with my husband and we couldn't find the names Robert Jackson, or Sam Jack anywhere across the web, LinkedIn, or Florida Blue at all. Then we took a closer look at the offer letter sent and realized that the CEO was not the same name as the actual one. So I decided to call the number who texted me from a different phone and when the guy answered the phone, they were not someone who worked as a recruiter. He stumbled over words as well as wouldn't tell me who he was. He kept saying I called him so I should know who he was, which gave me a very clear distinction that it was definitely a scam. After that I blocked the number right after receiving a final message of just a (?) . I cannot believe how thorough everything was. The letters all said Florida Blue. The emails were from Florida Blue as well as the link in the emails. Please be careful out there. If things seem too good to be true, they just might be! Emails used were from [email protected], [email protected] and the Phone number was (845)907-6796
