The shipment was purchased through another third party (which could be considered another scam, but for the sake of confidentiality, not being stated), and the victim was given a link and a tracking ID to see where the package was during transit. The shipment was made through an Air Freight Transportation, and the package, once landing, was put on hold, and located at the local airport. The package was registered as a discrete package and given the message that "All priority packages must be insured before doorstep delivery proceed." Once the package was on hold, the remarks were given on the invoice that "The package awaiting a refundable insurance deposit before home delivery can proceed." The shipment was then denied delivery due to the insurance deposit not being paid. The emails message comes as follows:

Dear Customer

Greetings from the management of express delivery-logistics, we wish to notify you of the safe arrival of your package here at [Redacted]. We are using the Airport as we do not have a physical office location here and urge you to proceed with the refundable INSURANCE clearance deposit of USD 423. 00 is obligatory for all discrete packages as we do not know the content of what we are carrying, the insurance amount depends on the weight of the package, insurance policy, and state laws.

Note: The total amount of up to USD 423.00 will be refunded back to you at the time of delivery by our company delivery agent, We do refund through cash, bank transfer, or check handed to you by our delivery agents upon safe arrival at your doorsteps as this is NOT an additional payment but a safety deposit for insurance purposes and agent safety as we do not know the content of what we are carrying.
