I received call yesterday from someone claiming to be from Frontier, my landline phone provider. He stated that my landline phone would soon no longer work and that they were upgrading to digital services. I would soon receive a package in the mail to plug in and my landline phone service would be discontinued at that time. He put another person on the phone to confirm that I would accept. This person proceeded to tell me that I would be billed to a different utility, and that I needed to send my payment to a vendor I have never heard of. I told them I was not interested in sending my bill to another vendor and hung up. I realized this was an attempt by an out of the county entity to scam me into agreeing to change my phone service provider, and the call was not from Frontier.
