GP Auto Recyclers Reports & Reviews (6)

A couple of years ago I bought an engine for a 2006 Toyota Corolla that I was told had only 74K miles on it. The engine arrived at my mechanic and was all clean and had some fresh paint on it. One small electrical part was apparently broken in shipment but my mechanic had one on hand. We took the car and drove 32 MILES and the engine completely died! I had it towed back to my mechanic who opened it up, thinking it to be a broken timing chain, but it was a siezed camshaft bearing that caused all sorts of inner damage and could not be repaired. I put a call into them about it all but, of course, never heard a thing. They are not listed in any Better Business Bureau files, so let that be a warning. They are CHEATS, CON ARTIST, AND TURDS!

I purchased a motor from GP Auto Recyclers for $1,675 in May 2021. The motor received was defective with a blown head gasket. I returned the motor and they sent yet another defective motor! GP Auto Recyclers manager, Eric Spencer, assured they would do the right thing and refund my money upon receipt of the 2nd defective motor. They confirmed receipt of the 2nd returned motor, but now Eric is always mysteriously unavailable/out of the office and has yet to return my phone calls. Mind you, the expense of having my mechanic put in and take out now TWO defective motors and returning the motors back has been at my own expense. I am out quite a bit of hard worked for money just to have this company thumb their nose at my loss and refuse to honor their word.

BUYER BEWARE...this not an honorable business!

My name is art from merced ca. I went on line and found gp recycling they seem very nice guys when you first talk to them on the phone.i order parts for my vehicles and I was promised a good deal, boy i was wrong about them. they are very good professional scamers. Ones they took my money everything change for the worst. They send me a part of my order which is 40.00 took 357.00 from my bank account and to top it of the part was defective. The main part of the mass air flow sensor was not included. And the other order of a master window switch i haven't receive to this day was 232.00 They refuse to send tracking numbers for both my orders never tell you the truth ( oh sir its on its way) a big lie. Call over and over text over and over to get my funds return to my account. I can't believe theirs businesses like that, that rob people of their money right before xmax.then i got a tracking number that didn't even belong to me it belonged to someone out of state. I still had time to reporte it to my bank. Maybe (hope)they will help me. They were trying to run the clock because after 30 days the bank won't help.

Eric from GP auto recyclers. Inc. sold me a2.5 l Subaru engine with 74,000 miles on it (Supposedly). He said he had a truck that came up to Seattle every week, so I would have my engine by the following Friday. Two days later, a truck showed up with the engine (it was from B&R wrecking in Gram Wa.) . I never received the engine we spoke about, instead I received one from another wrecking yard, that has a blown head gasket. They refuse to do anything about it.

I am a disabled Veteran and the manual transmission went out on my toyota. I filled out the stuff on a site to get quotes from places to get another trans that was A graded. GP Auto Recyclers seemed to be a good place according to a review site. Man was that a lie.
A person claiming to be David Brown emailed me. I called him back and he gave me a quote with tax and shipping. Because I am on a fixed low income from a kid running a stop sign I have to get help to pay for something like this as its over a grand and I am not allowed to have that much to get any help.. Told him I needed a quot sent to my email so my VSO could fill out an application to a Veterans group to help pay for this. So Dave sent me the quot but it had $45 added to the quot for a palleting fee. And this transmission was not only supposed to be tested and Graded A and have less than 68000 miles on it it was to come with a clutch plate, pressure plate and flywheel from the car that the transmission came out of. Dave told me in an email that when I got the checks to pay for this to send him pictures and they would send the trans right away. which I did when I got the help check on a Saturday. I emailed Dave when I got the other check and side I would be putting them in the mail on money. Got an email monday that said he wanted the tracking number so I had to spend more to get that and emailed him that and asked for the carrier name and what day it would arrive. Ended up having to call him about it and he said the trans. was still in a running car and would not be sent until they got the checks. So that is lie 2. they got the checks on that Thursday. Later that evening I get an email from someone else in the company and he sent a PDF of the invoice and told me to sign it and provide an ID to verify with. I have NEVER signed for something that is not there for me to physically pick up right then and there. Called the guy and we went round and around and he said we will send the transmission and not to sign anything.
Emailed Dave the next day to get the carrier, day it was to get here and tracking number cause I was tired of being lied to and played with and wanted proof the trans. was on its way. After the second time I emailed him he gave me a real carrier name and a Tracking number. Went to the carriers site to check the Tracking number and it said it was not a Pro tracking number so I called the company twice an hour apart. The 1st lady checked the number and said they didn't have that number in the system. Called back later and explained things and she got their info and mine and checked into things and told me they had not picked up anything from that company, that the tracking number was the kind they would use but they didn't have any record of that number and had nothing even going my area.
Talked to Dave AGAIN. And he said he could not give me a tracking number until next Wed. and we went round and round on that and then he was not to be found, or that was what I was told many times. Called on monday Dave supposedly took two days off and I went round with the guy I was talking to about the tracking number and carrier. He said they were using their own driver and truck and didn't have a tracking number. FINALLy a lot later he gave me what was supposed to be his drivers number to call to verify that he had my trans and was on his way. That went to voice mail so I called the company back and he claimed to have called the driver with the same result which i do not believe. He says he cannot give me a tracking number and that it will be delivered on friday and he will give me the tracking number then. THAT DIDN'T happen either and when I called again he said there was no tracking number and it would be delivered on tuesday in their truck. Not able to get hold of Dave this whole week. FINALLY got the trans on Tuesday but not in their truck it was delivered by Speedy and it was not secured to the pallet and the box had clear damage and u could see the trans the whole trans from the damage to the box. And the clutch parts were not there at all.

Now they are trying to claim several things. Two days in a row when they said Dave was supposed to call me the next day he is supposedly at the doctor. 3rd day they claim that he has been fired because of me. Tell them he is supposed to be their Sr. sales specialist they would not do that and finally they put him on. and we go round and round and then I tell him he is to wire 200 to my bank today to pay for the parts that he said were a part of the deal and that he was the one that said that the clutch plate, pressure plate and flywheel came with the Trans and that I asked if they were new and that he said they came out of the same car as the trans if they were still in good condition and indicated if they were not in good condition that they would be new parts. So he agreed then to wire $200 to my account today and has not after talking to him twice in an hour and a half after that. Then the company is hanging up on me.
Then when they didn't wire things after three hours I finally get to a person thats not Dave Brown but claiming to be him and he again tries to change things up on me and I will not allow it. He better wire the money today or they will have more than just the local police on their [censored] for fraud, attempted theft, trying to steal from a Veteran and not fulfilling what they claimed they were going to do which is wire me my money today.

GP Auto Recyclers claimed to have the engine I needed for over $700, which I didn't have. So, they asked for a down payment of $100. He asked for my debit card over the phone. Fortunately, he didn't suck my back account dry. The 100 came out without a hitch. Then, I found a cheaper, better engine from a private seller and bought that instead. At least, that engine was real. So, my husband called for a refund. That was a flipping month ago. Over the course of the month, he promised three times that he would refund the money. Still no refund despite the fact that I threatened to turn him in.
