Imposter of ATT Reports & Reviews (1)

A message was left on our answering machine from a caller claiming to represent AT & T direct offering to reduce my phone/internet/tv service by half. A phone number was left to call for more information. (833) 774-1995. So, I called. The  "representative" was obviously some third world country call center. The offer was $500 for the first 6 months, and $83 (half of my current monthly charge) for the next 18 months. Included was my choice of premium channels. I quizzed the rep (who seemed to have my account information but didn’t know how much I was paying on a monthly basis) about the $500 upfront charge. He replied that it was to recoup their costs. I told him I would consider the offer and asked when the deal expired, he said this coming Friday. I was very interested in the deal so I called AT & T customer loyalty department and asked them about the offer. They said it’s a fraud and after you pay the $500, you would never hear from them again.
