Instans Shopper Reports & Reviews (1)

A few months ago I read an article that recommended applying to be a mystery shopper as a side gig. I started looking into companies for that and came upon Instans Shopper. They included links to ScamPulse.com and MSPA claiming to be affiliated and have high ScamPulse.com rating - the links led to those sites and at the time I didn’t think to enter the company name whose site led me there. They include links to your site and reporting fraud - tips on identifying fraud , including a part that says that mystery shopping companies won’t send you a check prior to your finishing an assignment. I never heard back from this company in any way- no text, call or email after I applied for over two months. Then on Monday April 25, 2022- my mailman hands me a large cardboard 3day priority mail envelope . Within is a letter with a Mastercard header titled Provisional Assignment from one Rudolf Kinney, who says he is Field Operations manager and a tellers check from Great Western Bank in the amount of $2,390.73. The check has all numbers a check would and claims to have security features which I recalled some can usually be seen when held up to light- I saw no signs of these features. The letter gives me instructions to go to my bank and cash this check - says if I can’t cash it I can deposit it and that the funds will be available next day. Tells me to keep $295.00 as my commission, head to any Walmart and buy 45$ worth of groceries with the money- fill out the form I’m to ask Mr Kinney for to review shopping experience and buy 2 500$ Master Gift Cards totaling $1,011.90 plus the 45 for groceries. Next to proceed to another Walmart and buy another 2 Mastercards. If $500 cards aren’t available buy $500 worth of gift cards in place for the total etc… Then to email Mr Kinney and request my paperwork and in separate emails I should open cards and e-mail Mr Kinney clear photos of the front and back of cards and to retain cards for future assignments . This all seemed fishy to me as I never heard back with any contracts or agreements from this company. So I started looking into it and even called and emailed this company who ended up having a faulty email when you click “contact us” and a phone number that went to auto voicemail prompting message. I left message and got no reply - this phone number is the same as the one Mr Kinney uses on the letter. On Weds April 27, 2022 - Mr Kinney sends me a follow up email not mentioning my call or email to his supposed Company asking how I’m doing on the assignment he sent me in the mail- warning me that if I wish to have future assignments I need to get it done etc… the email he sent this from is completely different than the one he used in the letter I received. I left the email I received from in the information above and not the one from the letter.

I’ve saved and taken photos of the envelope with address (it has tracking on it), the letter, the check and the link where I first signed up for interest in mystery shopping .
