I was on my Quickbooks website profile un my company. I clicked on Help to chat with a tech person. They asked if they could log on to my computer to see what the issues where I was having. I'd been on the phone with Quickbooks previously and they helped me migrate to Quickbooks online. As soon as they logged on, my computer set off like a fire alarm. So the googled Microsoft Tech support. The person I talked to was the scammer. I beleieve the first person on the Quickbooks chat was connected and spoofed my phone number and was probably the same person. He supposedly helped me to clean up the computer and assign me a new IP address. Well I was dumb about that stuff and believed them. He asked for payment by check and I sent a check for $1499.98 to Quest Digital Systems, 4015 Medeiros Rd, Turlock CA 95382. I spoke to my daughter after this and she told me it was a fraud, a scammer. My check was cashed 9/27/23.
