They posted an ad on indeed.com

Sent an email with enticing offer, conducted a Microsoft teams chat interview, asked for references with names , phone numbers and emails (demanded two references within 1 hour after the interview)."Hired" me almost immediately after a short phone interview the next day. Never contacted the references. The person on the phone called himself "Joshua Russo" yet had a heavy Indian accent.

He refused to answer any follow up questions and quickly announced that I am hired. For any questions he sent me back to Microsoft chat with the "Larry" who also refused to answer further questions about the job and demanded my home address instead. He also wrote "welcome onboard". I refused to give the address until I hear the answers to my questions because it was looking increasingly suspicious. They pushed back, so I declined to continue.

Judging by the "pre-interview briefing" attached to the initial email, they were planning on getting my bank account number for "direct deposit". They probably wanted to take everything I had on my account.
