Went to dmvrecords.us.org site wanting to check the status of someone’s drivers license, who is operating a vehicle that I own. Once I put the name in, they requested a credit card for a $1.00 charge. I first entered my credit union credit card, which the site kept saying it was an invalid card number. So I entered another of my credit cards, for the $1.00 charge and it was accepted. I then was shown a list of names that were not like the one I had entered so I logged off. Later that day I received a call from my Credit Union Fraud department asking about 2 attempted charges to my card by drivinghistoryusa.com for $1.00 and $28.95, which they declined. I explained that I had used my credit card online with dmvrecords.us.org, but just for the $1.00 charge, nothing else. The Credit Union Credit Card was cancelled and I was issued a new one. I then started watching the 2nd credit card I used and found that I had been charged $28.95 on 9/13/23, then $1.00 on 9/17/23 and an additional $28.95 on 10/13/23. I am currently dealing with these fraudulent charges with that bank. I believed this was a valid site due to them having a .org site which denoted government entities. Instead I was a victim of internet fraud.
