I was applying for a video editing job and I was under going the interviewing process via email. It was my first remote job so I was excited to begin and they said I will be responsible for buying equipment so they sent me a check online. They said they use to just send the equipment but had problems in the past so they had to do it this way. I was skeptical but my bank hadn't cleared the check that was my first red flag. Then I told them I had to wait till the money cleared and they asked me to make the payment to their vendor anyway. I said no of course and told them i had to wait till the money clears. They said ok and asked me how long that will take and i said 2 business day and they said alright. I never heard from them agin so i assume if i had paid the vendor and waited for my reimbursement on the money i would never had gotten it. It was a scam!
