Live IP Support or Digy Leap Reports & Reviews (2)

I took was taken by Digy Leap. The invaded my computer and had me believe they were associated with Microsoft. I asked if they work with Microsoft and other was told that they did work for Microsoft. HP, and other hardware/software companies. I have stop payment on the check and will be closing out that account. They have you at a disadvantage as you can not access the internet or any other number because your computer is locked. How they got into my computer is unknown. I was in Google Chrome and was trying to log into Facebook.
Next stop is Best Buy to have my computer cleaned up.

This happened on a Sunday afternoon (3/14/21) while trying to track a FEDEX delivery, I inadvertently clicked on what I now believe was malware. Shortly afterwards while doing on-line banking, my computer was taken over and audio was blaring to call an 800 number for tech support because I had a virus. I was told if I shut down my laptop, I would lose my data. I did not call the number that was blaring over my pc but instead called a Microsoft 800 Support number which turned out to be equally bad. This company (aka Digy Leap) made me believe they were Microsoft and started taking over my laptop to run diagnostics and check for malware. They had me hostage for over 4 hours running scans and checking to make sure my information was secure. They said it would cost $*** for a 30-day protection package and I agreed to pay them. With taxes and 'security' it went up to $***. I wrote a check and they captured it on my printer. They also had me digitally sign a 4-page agreement to allow them to upload 'protection on my computer and a number for Live IP Support. The next day I took my laptop to the Geek Squad who removed their apps, scanned my device and reinstalled the virus software that I failed to renew when it was up for renewal. I'll never let that lapse again. My bank account and financial related passwords were changed and I have frozen my credit. This company did not try to cash the check so they never got paid. I found a similar story as mine on the ScamPulse.com site that happened a week earlier on a Sunday exactly as it happened to me. This company is texting, calling, emailing and now threatening me. I am sharing my story and also reported this incident to the FTC. I am lucky no money was removed and so far, my identity was not stolen.
