Lot Hunters Reports & Reviews (2)

Caller ID showed 813-295-8610 from Tampa, FL. I did not answer phone but let it go straight to voicemail, instead of leaving a voicemail I was immediately redialed. Thinking "Maybe" it was someone I knew, I answered the phone. The person on the other end of the line asked for "Nancy" so I said wrong number and hung up. Immediately the phone rang again and this time the guy asked for "John". This time I asked who was calling and he said his name was Thomas calling from "Lot Hunters". I asked if I could call him back as I was busy and he gave me his number as 800-381-6250 ext 7039 at which point I told him I was now going to report him as I am on the do not call list. He said go ahead sir and I hung up. Immediately he called back again and said he had a real good offer on my property. I said something rude and hung up the phone. He immediately called back one more and then he hung up.

We have been contacted twice by this company who expressed interest in purchasing some property that we own. The initial contact was short. The second contact was primarily to get us to agree to a sales price of the property. The person (leaving out personal names here) who spoke with us today was very pushy, talked very fast, and wanted us to agree to the sale right now. If we did not, we would be pushed to the "bottom of his list". Initially, we were interested in the sale of this property. But, then, he wanted to know a method of payment that would be required once the title search was done. Our first reaction was "how do we know that you are legitmate and not a scammer"? He sounded annoyed at that but wanted us to get on Google and search the website "onlinebusinessbureau.com". We did that and, naturally, it shows that their company is a "recommended company". He wanted us to give him our credit card or checking account numbers today. When we told him that we were not comfortable with that because of possibly being scammed, he talked faster and more condescending to us. He claimed there were protections for us and that it was okay to give him that information. We explained that we did not initiate the call and were no longer interested in selling our property to him because we did not trust the arrangement. We also explained that we do not give out personal information on our financial institutions over the phone -- especially if we did not initiate the phone call. (Just another note, while he was talking to us about credit cards, etc., I was online at ScamPulse.com trying to find the company. I told him I was doing that and he said that I would not find them listed at BBB because they were an "online" company.) He again talked faster, trying to bully us into making an agreement. The comments which indicated that he did not think we were very smart and "needed explaining to" is when we told him that he was talking down to us and we were hanging up. We did not want to hear from him again.
