A man keeps calling me saying his name is "David John" and saying my computer firewall is expired. "You computer firewall is expired, you can cancel your subscription and receive $299. Go to join.zoho.com and connect your computer to ours so we can see what you see on your screen"

I've called them back at the listed phone number over 12 times and have been trying to get more information but they keep running me in circles.

From google, I clicked on amazon's website and immediately got a loud beeping with a woman saying my computer had been compromised coming out of my speakers. My screen had changed to an official looking Microsoft screen saying security had been compromised and to call 1-855-227-1777. Like an [censored] I called. Someone with a foreign accent proceeded to "help" me with my breached security. He was a scammer. I feel like an [censored]. Before I knew what he was doing, he'd taken over control of my computer and was "detecting malware". He proceeded to scare me by saying there were hackers that had been watching my every move on my computer for months. He then showed me a window with some of my passwords and one with my credit card number. He then said for a fee of $199.90 he could fix my computer and protect it. As soon as he threw out that number, I had a sinking feeling and knew that I'd been scammed by him. I hung up the phone and shut off my computer right away, changed all my passwords, and security settings. He said his name was George Shelton, gave me a number to call him back at (866-423-0874, which is bogus), and a company name of Micro Tech Support.

My mom hit a website that said she had a virus and that she needed to call 877-931-1121 to resolve. The message contained Code B2957E Agent 268B3. She called and the technician said he was a Microsoft technician and need to access her computer to fix the virus. He directed her to www.fastsupport.com and gave her instructions to leave her computer on while he checked. While this was going on, he asked for $199.99 payment for the services, saying the 1st year was free , Case MS521 and support was good for lifetime. The technician gave a name of Peter Johnson but had an accent that was evident he was not American. The technician asked for a check and that he would send UPS to pick it up. My mom does not hold her checkbook, so she could not provide that information. The technician then asked for iTunes card which my mom provided 4 card number ($25 each). She then purchased an additional iTunes card for $100. However, she decided to call me (son) and I stepped in to stop this transaction. I shut down her laptop, started and ran a full McAfee virus scan (clean), then I checked the 4 iTunes cards to see if there was a balance. Since the technician did not redeem them yet, I did.

Afterwards, my mom told me she provided the technician her SSN and bank name.

This person/company is preying on senior citizens and need to be stopped. Please contact me if I can be of further assistance.
