- Torrance, CA, USA

Sent me a “job posting” to be mystery shopper.

- Brooklyn, NY, USA

Received a cashiers check by mail for $1981.00 to function as a mystery shopper. Instructed to deposit funds (specifically using an ATM), withdraw commission ($280.00) and additional funds for shopping ($30.00), perform my duty as a mystery shopper at my choice of a number of well-known national stores (list provided) and then forward the remaining funds to the next mystery shopper (name and address provided), specifically using Western Union Wire Transfer.

- Lakeview, MI, USA

Was offered a position as a mystery shopper. Was told I was hired. Was sent an envelope in the mail containing a counterfeit money order. Was told to deposit the "check" into my bank account immediately. Was told to visit a store and purchase several hundred dollar iTunes gift cards, scratch off the cards, and send all codes to the "manager" via email. Was told to use the "companies check" for payment. Soon realized this was a scam luckily before attempting to deposit or spend any of the counterfeit money. Was then sent several text messages and emails complaining I was trying to "run off with company funds" and that the FBI and other authorities would be contacting me.
