The scammer sent an email to set up an interview via an app and website called Chatwork. They were offering a job opportunity to work from home as a data entry clerk. The scammer began by asking for full name, mailing address, and email address. They gave a briefing about the job giving details about the job description, benefits, and pay followed by conducting an interview with about 13 questions on Chatwork. The job was offered on the spot and an email was sent with documents consisting of a W4, employment documents, and direct deposit account information to be signed and scanned back to them. The scammer then requested that an account with Central National Bank be created so that $12,000 could be deposited into the account to purchase work equipment.

They posted a job “French/Spanish Translator” on Indeed and then reached out me with this e-mail text below:

Then asked me interview questions through and app called “Chatwork” I was thinking I got a job but there were some red flags that made me feel concerned. After doing some research online I saw a report today with the same text so wanted to warn other people as well. When you need a job so badly unfortunately it is easier to believe to this kind of scams with the excitement of finding a job.

I was emailed by samual cameron on march 18th 2024 saying i had been accepted for a remote data entry position. I was told to contact a George McClain on signal with the number (610) 484-3476. I then filled out the requested forms of a w4 and direct deposit from after being given an offer letter from [email protected] which had the trinity health water mark on it.

I applied for a job through Indeed. It was a remote job in Boston named Brent Johnson Design. They did the interview and they sent info for my W-4. Once I was hired, they sent me a check for $6844. I was supposed to buy my equipment with that, and I received a bonus. The check arrived UPS Express it said it came from Regal Dog Products in Festus. They said to use buy bit coin. They wanted me to put this on my card and send it to them. My card declined it. I became very suspicious. They wanted me to withdrawal $6000 to take it to the ATM.

I applied for a remote position on Indeed for a chat position with Milestone Management. Monday morning I received an email from a Jude Alime that stated I needed to download an app called “Signal” and add their hiring manager for an interview, the hiring manager being “Karen Williams”. I was told I would need $1,000+ in different materials. It was very sketchy.

I saw a job posting on indeed and the next day I received and email from: [email protected] which told me to install an app called signal and text a specific number: 323 382-4329 to schedule an interview. I did the interview that same day and was told that I was hired after answering some basic questions. They sent me a list of office equipment that I would need to purchased and informed me that they would send in a check for me to purchase the equipment. I proceeded to look up the equipment to check the price and realized that this was a scam. The company name being used is milestone consulting solutions and the “name” of the people I spoke to are Gary Hamlin and Michael Das.

Job posted on Indeed. Applied and received an email two days later from James Saulis at Houston Barricade and Supply to set up interview. I was told to set up the interview through their hiring manager Gracie Thompson at phone #812-610-0203 through signal app. I have used signal before so no second thoughts. Tried to call and no answer, then text started coming through with company and job details and legit basic questions which I answered. Then her questions started getting very personal and looking for info that usually isn't provided in an interview so I started a little deeper search and found others that had fallen into this scam and I immediately stopped my conversation before any more info was given! I tried to report this to indeed but the ad was immefiately removed when I stopped messaging and Indeed supposedly couldn't access anything either.

I went onto the signal site, and Karen Williams did answer but then she stated this was an IM(chat) only interview and

Then proceeded with this link to the company https://www.milestone-mgmts.com and what the job entailed. They asked for name and location and if I wanted to continue with the job interview, I declined because it didnt feel legit that they wanted an chat only interview.

I found a job post on indeed for Data Entry at $25 an hour, for a company called MSA Designs in Milwaukee, WI. And then I received an email from Andrew Wasinski stating that in order to further my spot in the selection process I should download the signal app and add Corey Turman with his signal ID: 908 366 0977. After doing this, it said I should schedule an interview with him. When I went back to double check the company name I could no longer find the posting for the job. And, I can't find anything on this company being in Milwaukee.

I applied for a remote Call Center Customer Service Representative ( Remote ) at Rainman Digital on all different websites, indeed, glassdoor, careerbuilders etc. From different states. They ask you to download Signal Messenger for an interview and tell you were you can download the app from your Google Play/App Store or visit https://signal.org/download/. However, I was contacted about a Data Entry Position which I did not apply for and could not locate either position on Rainman Digital website.

I applied on indeed for a remote job for American inn by Windham in Fort Worth. I then get an email maybe the next day from a name Manuel Prudencio saying this

Hello Good Morning your resume was forwarded / Referred to us by Americ Inn By Windham, I am contacting you in regards to your resume you submitted for the Remote Data Entry Specialist Position at Arcadia Management Group. If interested, you are required to contact the Assistant Hiring Manager Mrs. Julie Ellison on Signal Messenger for an interview now. The pay for this position is $24.95 per hour.

After that I downloaded the app and began messaging the number for Julie Ellison but the responses weren’t adding up the more I thought about it. 24.95 was too good to be true so I just starting looking more into it. Then I was told to be on the app at 9 but no on was responding to anything I received an offer letter too and the part that through me off was this because I’ve never seen it on an application before.

II. Employment Period: The Employer agrees to hire the Employee on an at-will basis which means this

Agreement may be terminated at any time by either the Employee or Employer. After termination by

any of the Parties, neither will have any obligation excluding severance as outlined in this Section,

confidentiality as listed in Section X and any non-compete as listed in Section XI.
