Online Event Purchase Scam - Hacked Facebook Account Reports & Reviews (1)

- New York, NY, USA • Nov 27, 2023

The scammer has hacked ***** ****** Facebook account. It has a lot of info and about 700 friends with tagged photos. She posted on the local NYC group about having 4 tix to Taylor Swift concert for Toronto on 11/22/24 at face value. After messaging, scammer sent screenshots of tickets and proof of purchase. She gave 2 names for payment- Aida Moran and phone number for Zelle and Jerome Wiggins for Venmo. I did sent a venmo.

Scammer did not send tickets saying there was an issue with Ticketmaster and they were down for maintenance. This went on for several hours and once I realized it was a scam, I was able to stop payment right away.

Scammer is still messaging and now it has been clear it's a scam with the language used.

I was able to verify that the Facebook profile of ******* has been used on several groups selling fake Taylor Swift tickets. ******s friend confirmed she was hacked last year and Facebook does not take the account down.
