Website looks legitimate for purchase of puppy. Contacted them to inquire, they asked question regarding why we wanted a puppy, had we had one before and so on. Then asked for a wire transfer through Moneygram, Western Union, Zelle, or Cash App to pay for the puppy and they would ship within 24hrs. They began texting as well, pushing to confirm the money had been sent. I was hesitant and told them so. They then backed off a bit and agreed to take 1/2 down and the other 1/2 on receipt of the puppy. Their website has detailed information regarding how they transport the puppies using pet nannies and they fly within the same air as the pilot. Once I sent 1/2 the money, they said they were reaching out to an agency to arrange transport. They sent a text link to the shipping agency with a copy of the tracking information for the flight. The shipping company webpage looked real. Starlight Shipping Company was the name. Then I get an email saying, Urgent, Urgent, your puppy owner did not provide a proper crate for transport. For the health of the puppy we need to send $1250 Cdn to purchase a 100% refundable crate. The email from the agency was from [email protected] with name Elaco Vibe. Came with a photo of a regular crate, but said it was a "ventilated electronic auto regulatory crate so as to protect her from any eventuality". The email was very pushy, saying we needed to pay right away to secure the puppy on the flight. I asked why I would purchase a crate only to be refunded the following day. I didn't want a crate, so they could keep it upon delivery anyhow. They said it was to secure safe travel of the puppy and they will be liable for any health issues, which is costly, so I must pay this in order for the puppy to travel. We reached out to Onshed, I transferred the initial funds to Louis Njomo, and he said it was legit and we needed to send the money - but fully refundable. Then he said he would pay to keep the puppy at the shipping agency overnight and notify us in the morning of the plan. We then got a text from him in the morning saying we needed to confirm we had transferred the money. The shipping company said their online payment system was down for upgrades and so could only accept money through MoneyGram or western union. We said we were not comfortable to send any further money. He had two options (if a real service) 1. arrange transfer of the dog per the outlined process on their webpage ($150USD flat rate shipping), or 2. return our money to us. He continued to try to ensure us this was all a real thing but would not do either. He said he could not return our money because he had spent it on the registry with AKC, and on vet bills. We asked to see receipts. He produced a photo text of a rabies certificate, with the name blocked out, and the primary language was Philippino?. The shipping company was not searchable using regular web searches, which we identified to Louis and he said we must not be searching properly. He would text both my husband and I separately - telling me, after my husband said he had two choices, that he did not like how my husband was talking to him and that he was accusing him. I did not respond. Then all communication just stopped between he and my husband. He had said he was going to the agency to see what he could sort out - then nothing. The rationale for the crate was that the puppy was travelling in a non-pressurized part of the plane and would be subject to harsh conditions if there was no specialized crate. I asked why the Onshed webpage goes into detail of the safe guards for travel and that the puppy would not travel in the cargo section but in the same pressure as the pilot with a pet nanny. Then Louis said, no they travel underneath, and puppy nannies take care of the dogs. This did not make sense. He continued to say the crate would regulate the puppies body temperature. They also said he needed an "anti-pressure" vaccine - and it would also protect against rabies. This is not true, the rabies vaccine is on it's own and not combined in with other vaccines as it is not stable.
