Orion Pharmaceutical Reports & Reviews (1)

- Stockton, CA, USA • Nov 02, 2023

On October 30, 2023 at 8:12AM PST, I was sent an email by a Nelson Diaz. He claimed to be the Staffing Director HR - Talent Acquisition of Orion Pharmaceutical. He said that Indeed.com had sent them my resume and that I may qualify for a job as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative (Entry Level and Specialty) with their company. All I had to do was answer their questionnaire and send it back to him and then I would be able to get an interview. I answered the questions and got a response, fairly quickly. I was told that I didn't meet all of the qualifications for a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative because I lacked a CNPR Certification. He then provided me with a link for a website where I could easily obtain this certification online. The website he gave me was to the "National Association of Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives" (https://www.napsronline.org/). He said that the latest person that they hired completed their certification within 13 days. I then proceeded to purchase the "Total Package" which included the "CNPR Training Manual, CNPR Examination, NAPSRx Membership (1 year), Quizzes and access to the NAPSRx Career Center" for a total of $279.00. I paid for this with a credit card via PayPal.

The next day, October 31, 2023, I received an email with a USPS tracking number for my package. Later that night, I was informing my friend of this amazing job opportunity that was sent my way and she stopped me and said that something seemed suspicious. She found out that the Orion Pharmaceutical website had been created back in 2022. She then dug further and found a post on Reddit where someone else was asking about this certification and got confirmation from someone else that this was, in fact, a scam (https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/14x6fle/national_association_of_pharmac... />
After lamenting over how naive I was, I immediately went into action to rectify the issue. The credit card company was called to report the scam. They immediately flagged it and then closed out that card and replacements will be sent out as soon as possible. I also tried to report this scam with PayPal but they just sent a message to the "seller." Since that was the route PayPal was going to go, I decided to reach out myself to inform the scammers that I am aware of their scam and that I demand a refund immediately. Next, I sent an email to Indeed.com informing them about the scam this fraudulent company is running and that they are using Indeed.com's name and reputation to make their scam appear legit. Finally, I reported Orion Pharmaceutical to the FBI via an IC3 Complaint.

Fast forward to Wednesday, November 1, 2023 and I received an email from PayPal saying that I was issued a refund for the full amount of $279.00. However, the point is moot because that credit card was closed out.
