Received email from American Dental Association (ADA) Vendor Showcase.

Called ADA to verify that seller / website (overstocker.com) was legitimate before placing order.

ADA confirmed it was legitimate.

Charged $3000 for equipment that was never received.

Received email apology from executive director at ADA about Overstocker.com being a scam while awaiting for purchased equipment to ship.

Reported fraudulent activity to Mastercard and Mastercard rejected the claim for refund.

Online purchase of equipment. Overstocker's business phone message states it has been in business for 21 years selling equipment. It asks for your representative's extension or purchase order number. Phone message does not allow for any means to communicate with the business and refers caller to the site. The site shows employees by name, has a link to privacy terms, customer service link, hours of operation. Everything seems legitimate. All email replies are automated and initial receipt looks legitimate with a receipt number, company info in the closing (no address). There is never any voice to voice contact with the company.

American Dental Association released a sponsored vendor ad of this organization of liquidation bankrupt dental supplies/equipment. Never received order for months and finally came to the conclusion with other dentists it was a scam.

Heard about overstocker.com from ADA (American Dental Association) email, ordered liquidated product (autoclave) for $2000. Never received product, customer service said July 28th, then said Aug 28th, then they said Sept 8th, and still nothing. I kept asking for a tracking # and they never gave it to me. They stopped responding to my emails and calls. Then last week the ADA sent an email out that they have received many complaints about overstocker.com not sending the products and that they no longer want us to contact this company and that they apologize for advertising this company they thought was reputable in their emails. The ADA stated that we should contact our credit card companies and look for other fraudulent charges as well. Sure enough I found a fraudulent charge for $500 from the same area (toronto, ON) as overstocker.com.

Found company via American Dental Association vendor advertisement link. Dental equipment ordered and paid for in April 2023, an autoclave $2999. Delivery promised in July, then multiple subsequent delays, and eventual promised delivery date and time but never received. No live person via telephone but very responsive by email. Was offered of a 10% discount to compensate for delays, in actuality a $500 charge was applied to credit card instead of discount.

Overstocker.com was listed by the American Dental Association under their Vendor Showcase emails. Overstocker was advertising dental sterilizers/autoclaves that were obtained in bankruptcies, surplus and closeout inventories at discounted prices. I purchased an autoclave on April 4, 2023, and was informed via email that the item would ship within 3 - 13 weeks. On July 26 I inquired about the shipping status and a prompt reply was returned stating that it was scheduled for August 28, 2023. It was delayed due to "being a later order in that sale". On September 9th, I sent a followup email regarding the status with no response from the company. On September 18, 2023, the ADA issued a statement about other fraudulent claims and it has since "terminated its business relationship" with Overstocker.com.

The website overstocker.com was introduced by the American Dental Association (ADA) website. I made a payment of $2,999 on 4/10/2023 using our business credit card to purchase dental equipment through this website. However, the product was never delivered, and the company continues to charge fees of $497.44 on 8/23/2023 and an additional $500 on 9/6/2023. Despite sending multiple emails and making phone calls, they have not responded.

ADA now is aware of the problem and recommends all dentists who have purchased from this website to report to ScamPulse.com and FTC.
