- Spokane, WA, USA

An elderly gent, identified himself as, Atty Micheal Washington, representing PCH sweepstakes. Said I had won a substantial amount of money and a car. He wanted to make sure I was able to get my prize. I said I had already been contacted by lottery and said to donate my "winnings" to charity. He was very insistent that he knew how scammers worked and assured me he was not one of them . First he gave me a number to call and an account number to verify funds being held in the federal reserve bank . I was to call and call him back. He asked if I had a bank account for wire transfer of funds. I said , "no. and I shouldn't have to pay anything to receive a prize I had won. He agreed. Asked if I knew how to take and send pics from my phone. I said ,"of course, why?" He replied, I'm going to have to have your winnings held until I could get a bank acct, and I would need to go to Walgreens, purchase a gift card for $500 and give him the card number and pin to hold my winnings. Laughing, I said, you said I shouldn't have to pay anything to get this prize, now you're asking for money! You're a scammer, and I hung up. He attempted to call me back 10 times. I blocked the number.
