Craigslist ad for the house. Reached out for a showing/application to which they gave an application and scheduled the showing for 2 weeks out, because supposedly it was being renovated. They wanted first month rent and security deposit to "reserve" the house for us and take it off market, fully refundable upon the house showing. We said that seemed weird and we would want to sign a lease before giving them 7400 dollars. They sent us a lease that smelled fishy. They posed as a real licensed real estate agent in California, under a fake management company (Single View Property) with a website and pictures of other agents, presumably also real licensed agents in California. They wanted the money wired to M and T bank to a jane doe landlord. I have the account number, can't we get the bank to close that account?
